Willem "Wim" Ruska was a judoka from the Netherlands. He is the first athlete to win two gold medals in Judo in one Olympics – in the heavyweight and absolute categories in 1972.

Floris van Imhoff is a former Dutch curler. Now coaching the Praxis Hammerheads, he has curled in 12 European Curling Championships. He skipped the Dutch team four times. On top of 12 years of European Curling Championship experience, van Imhoff was the third for Wim Neeleman at the 1994 World Curling Championship. They finished a respectful 7th place.

Reg Wiebe was a Dutch Canadian-born curler and curling coach from the Curling Club Utrecht. In a middle of 2000s he was a skip of the Dutch national team. Wiebe has played in six European Curling Championships, including a 10th-place finish in the 1999 Championships as a third for Wim Neeleman. Wiebe has skipped the Dutch team to three European championships. In 2002 they finished 12th, in 2005 they finished 19th, and in 2007 they finished 17th.

Christiaan Offringa is a Dutch curler from the Curling Club Utrecht. He played lead for the Dutch Junior team at the 2001 and 2003 "B" World Junior Championships, finishing 7th both times on a team skipped by Mark Neeleman. Offringa made his European Curling Championships debut in 2005 when he played lead for Reg Wiebe's 19th place team. He returned to the European Championships in 2006, remaining at lead while Wiebe and Steve van der Cammen swapped at third and skip. They improved slightly, finishing in 17th place.

Reinier Butôt is a former Dutch curler from the Curling Club Utrecht. He was the lead of the Dutch national team. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 he played third for Mark Neeleman at the World Junior "B" Curling Championships. All three years they finished 7th. Butôt was also an alternate on two European Championships teams: 12th place for Reg Wiebe in 2002 and 13th place for Floris van Imhoff in 2003. At the 2004 European Championships, Butôt played lead for Erik van der Zwan and they finished 15th. At the 2005 European Championships, he played second for Reg Wiebe's 19th place team.

Rob Vilain is a Dutch curler from the Curling Club PWA. He has curled in 10 European Curling Championships. He has only skipped in one though, that being the 2001 championships where he finished in 16th place. He has also been in the 1994 World Championships, when he was a second for Wim Neeleman. They finished in 7th place.

Mark Rurup is a Dutch curler from Amsterdam who curls out of the Curling Club Utrecht. He is the third of the Praxis Hammerheads which is the Dutch national team. Rurup has played in 3 European Championships. In 2005 he was the alternate for Reg Wiebe, and finished 19th. In 2007, he was the team's lead, and finished 17th. In 2009, he finished 11th, playing third for Mark Neeleman.

Wilhelmus "Wim" Gerardus Rijsbergen is a Dutch football manager and former player who played as a defender. He was last the manager of Solomon Islands' national team.

The 2010 Baden Masters was held September 10-12 in Baden, Switzerland. It was the first event of the Men's World Curling Tour for the 2010-11 curling season. The total purse of the event was 26,500 Swiss francs (CHF). The winning team was the hometown Thomas Lips rink which defeated the new Brad Gushue/Randy Ferbey combination team in the final. Lips' team would win 10,000 CHF. In the bronze medal game, Norway's Thomas Ulsrud defeated Sweden's Niklas Edin.

The 2010 Swiss Cup Basel was held October 1–4 in Arlesheim, Switzerland. It was one of three events held during Week 4 of the 2010-11 curling season on the World Curling Tour, and the third overall event of the newly dubbed European Curling Champions Tour.

Mark Jacobus Louis Neeleman is a sailor from the Netherlands. Since the Netherlands did boycott the Moscow Olympic Games Neeleman represented his National Olympic Committee at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Tallinn, USSR under the Dutch NOC flag. Neeleman took 8th place in the 1980 Summer Olympics, which was boycotted by several countries. In 1984 Summer Olympics, Los Angeles Neeleman did a second attempt in the Finn and finished on the 9th place. Neeleman missed the selection for the 1988 Olympics, Pusan.

The World Curling Championships are the annual world championships for curling, organized by the World Curling Federation and contested by national championship teams. There are men's, women's and mixed doubles championships, as well as men's and women's versions of junior and senior championships. There is also a world championship for wheelchair curling. The men's championship started in 1959, while the women's started in 1979. The mixed doubles championship was started in 2008. Since 2005, the men's and women's championships have been held in different venues, with Canada hosting one of the two championships every year: the men's championship in odd years, and the women's championship in even years. Canada has dominated both the men's and women's championships since their inception, although Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Scotland, the United States, Norway and China have all won at least one championship.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2021 World Men's Curling Championship</span>

The 2021 World Men's Curling Championship was held from April 2 to 11 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Canada. The event was originally to be held in Ottawa, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the championship was moved to Calgary. The event was held in a bio-secure bubble at Canada Olympic Park, which also hosted all major Curling Canada championships leading up to the Worlds. All events were held behind closed doors with no spectators.

Tobias van den Hurk is a Dutch curler. He currently plays lead on the Dutch men's curling team skipped by Wouter Gösgens.

The Olympic qualification event is an international curling tournament that was held from 5–18 December 2021 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
