Worgu Boms (born 31 March 1968) is a Nigerian lawyer and a former Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice. [1]
Boms went to State School Elekahia,Port Harcourt and Government Secondary School,Eneka. He had his tertiary education at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology and received his B.L. certificate from Nigerian Law School. [2]
In 1992,he gained entry into the Nigerian Bar and National Youth Service programme. Shortly after,he started practicing with the law firm of Serena David Dokubo &Co in Port Harcourt before founding Worgu Boms Chambers. [3]
Boms is affiliated with the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He has taken part in Conferences and Workshops in Nigeria and overseas,including the Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crimes. He has chaired the Port Harcourt branch of the Nigeria Bar Association. In 2011,he was appointed the Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in the cabinet of Governor Chibuike Amaechi. [4]
Port Harcourt is the capital and largest city of Rivers State in Nigeria. It is the fifth most populous city in Nigeria after Lagos,Kano,Ibadan and Benin. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the Niger Delta. As of 2023,Port Harcourt's urban population is estimated at 3,480,000. Historically it has been known as "Ígwúóchán" in the Ikwerre language,also Obomuotu Country within which a few other smaller areas were called Diobu.
The Nigerian Law School is an educational institution set up by the Government of Nigeria in 1962 to provide a Nigerian legal education to foreign-trained lawyers,and to provide practical training for aspiring Legal Practitioners in Nigeria. Until the school was established,legal practitioners in Nigeria had received the requisite training in England and had been called to the English Bar.

Magnus Ngei Abe is a Nigerian politician,and a lawyer who served as a Senator for the Rivers South East Senatorial District of Rivers State,Nigeria. He was first elected to the Nigerian Senate in 2011 in the April 2011 Federal elections and again in a rerun poll in December 2016. In the 2015 general elections,he had lost a return bid to Senator Olaka Nwogu. Before the poll,like others in Rivers,was invalidated by the court,necessitating a rerun poll. Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma was a Nigerian politician and lawyer from Rivers State,a long-term member People's Democratic Party. He was the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in the state. Between 2000 and 2002 Aguma worked as Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association,Port Harcourt Branch,and also chaired the Bar from 2006 to 2008. On 10 July 2015,the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee conferred the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on him alongside 20 others,to be sworn in on 21 September 2015.
