The World Beach Kabaddi Championship is an international Beach kabaddi competition conducted by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF). In 2024, the first World Beach Kabaddi Championship was held in Iran and was won by the hosts. [1] [2]
With the return of international kabaddi post COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 Asian Games, the IKF in 2024 announced the calendar with start of the World Beach Kabaddi Championship in 2024. [3]

Korfball is a ball sport, with similarities to netball and basketball. It is played by two teams of eight players with four female players and four male players in each team. The objective is to throw a ball into a netless basket that is mounted on a 3.5 m high pole.
Kabaddi is a contact team sport played between two teams of seven players, originating in ancient India. The goal of the game is for a single offensive player, called the "raider," to enter the opposing team's half of the court, tag as many players as possible, and return to their own side within 30 seconds, all while avoiding being tackled by the defenders. Points are scored for each player tagged by the raider, while the opposing team earns a point for stopping the raider. Players are taken out of the game if they are touched or tackled, but return to the game after each point scored by their team from a tag or tackle.
Many sports in Iran are both traditional and modern. Tehran, for example, was the first city in West Asia to host the Asian Games in 1974, and continues to host and participate in major international sporting events to this day. Freestyle wrestling has been traditionally regarded as Iran's national sport, however today, football is the most popular sport in Iran. The France national korfball team is managed by the UFOLEP National Korfball Committee, representing France in korfball international competitions.
The Japan national beach soccer team represents Japan in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the JFA, the governing body for football in Japan. One of the leading Asian beach soccer teams, Japan's best performance at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was in the 2021 edition, when they were runners-up to the hosts Russia, which played as the Russian Football Union (RFU).
The India men's national kabaddi team represents India in international men's kabaddi competitions. The team is by far the most successful national kabaddi side of any country, winning gold medals at the Asian Games in 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022, as well as winning all four Kabaddi World Cup events to date. Pawan Sehrawat is the current captain of the team since 2022.
The England national kabbadi team was established in 2004 and represents England in the National Kabaddi Association. The team is also affiliated with the International Kabaddi Federation. In the 2004 Kabaddi World Cup, which was the inaugural Kabaddi World Cup tournament, the team reached the quarter-finals following wins against Malaysia and South Korea and a loss against Japan, where they lost to Canada national kabaddi team. The team has participated in the group phases of the 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Kabaddi World Cup tournaments, but did not qualify for the semi-finals.

The International Kabaddi Federation, aka IKF, is an international governing body of Kabaddi. Its membership comprises 31 national associations. The federation was formed in 2004 and was founded by Ashish Pachori from India who served as the first president.
Ajay Thakur is an Indian professional Kabaddi player and the former captain of the Indian National Kabaddi Team.He is widely regarded as one of the Greatest Players Of All Time.He was part of the national teams which won 2016 Kabaddi World Cup and gold medal at 2014 Asian Games. He was awarded the Padma Shri and Arjuna Award in 2019.
Mamatha Poojary is an Indian professional international kabaddi player. She is the former captain of the Indian women's Kabaddi team and has been awarded the Rajyotsava Prashasti, the second-highest award of the Government of Karnataka. On 2 September 2014 she was conferred with the Arjuna Award by President Pranab Mukherjee in recognition of her achievements in Kabaddi.
The 11th IKF World Korfball Championship was held in August 2019 in Durban, South Africa and won by the Netherlands. The International Korfball Federation awarded the hosting rights for the tournament to South Africa on 7 November 2015, ahead of the bid by New Zealand.
The Kabaddi World Cup, is an indoor international kabaddi tournament conducted by the International Kabaddi Federation. It follows the standard style and is contested by men's and women's national teams. The format involves a round-robin group stage, including 5 teams in 2 pools, with the first and second place finishers of each group progressing to the semi-finals.
The Dubai Kabaddi Masters was a 6 nation Kabaddi Masters series which was held in the United Arab Emirates for 9 days from 22 June 2018 – 30 June 2018. This was also the inaugural edition of the tournament. This was the first international kabaddi sport event to be witnessed in the UAE. The tournament featured defending world champions India, Pakistan, Iran, Republic of Korea, Argentina and Kenya. India was regarded as the firm favourites to lift the inaugural Dubai Kabaddi Masters title. The tournament was hosted at the Al Wasl Sports Club in Dubai.
The 12th IKF World Korfball Championship was held in Taipei, Taiwan. It was the first time in the history of the IKF World Korfball Championship, the final wasn't played between Belgium and the Netherlands. The International Korfball Federation awarded the hosting rights for the tournament to Taiwan on 9 August 2019, ahead of the bids of Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The Netherlands was awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 IKF World Korfball Championship instead.
The Philippines national korfball team is the team which represents the Philippines in international korfball competitions. It is sanctioned and managed by the Philippine Korfball Federation.
The 2025 Kabaddi World Cup will be the fourth edition of the Kabaddi World Cup organised by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF), and will be hosted in England during the month of January 2025.
The Junior Kabaddi World Cup, formerly called the Junior World Kabaddi Championship, is an indoor junior international kabaddi competition conducted by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) in a standard style. In 2019, the first Junior Kabaddi World Cup was held in Iran and was won by the hosts. The second edition which was also held in Iran was won by India.
