World Short Track Speed Skating Team Championships

The World Short Track Speed Skating Team Championships were a professional team short track speed skating event and held once a year in a different country.

The top eight countries from the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup qualified automatically. Four skaters from each country raced in the 500 meter, and 1000 meters, two skaters from each country race in the 3000 meters and there was a team effort in the 3000 meters relay, for women, and the 5000 meters relay for men. Eight countries are divided into two brackets, and do races. Countries with a first placed skater got 5 points, and 3 points, 2 points, 1 points respectively, the sum of each skater for the races determined the rank. The first placed countries qualified for Final A, last placed country qualified for Final B. Repechage were held for the remaining two qualified countries for Final A.

The Championships was first held in 1991 and was discontinued until further notice by ISU after the 2011 season.

The World Short Track Speed Skating Championships are a senior international short track speed skating competition held once a year to determine the World Champion in individual distances, relays and Overall Classification. It is sanctioned by the International Skating Union and is usually held in March or April.

The 2005 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships took place between 9 and 11 March 2005 in Beijing, China. The World Championships are organised by the ISU which also run world cups and championships in speed skating and figure skating.

The World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships are a junior short track speed skating event and held once a year in a different country. Skaters perform individual races in the 500 meters, 1000 meters, 1500 meters, 1500 meters super final and a team effort in the 3000 meters relay. Until 2018 there was an overall winner for both the girl's and the boy's categories, but this was discontinued in 2019.

Emily Scott is an American short track speed skater who competed at 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. As a young girl, Scott was a gymnast and roller skater. She discontinued gymnastics when it became too expensive, and took up inline speed skating. As an inline skater, she won five World Championship gold medals and set three national records.

Zsófia Kónya is a Hungarian short track speed skater, member of the national team. She was 3rd placed on the European Championships in 2014 and 3rd placed in the Winter Universiade in 2013. She qualified and was expected to compete in Sochi at the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 representing Hungary.

Short track speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics are scheduled to be held at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China. The events are scheduled to take place between 5 and 16 February 2022. A total of nine short track speed skating events will be held.

The following is about the qualification rules and the quota allocation for the short track speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The women's 3000 metre relay competition in short track speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 9 February (semifinals) and 13 February (finals), at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing. The event was won by Suzanne Schulting, Selma Poutsma, Xandra Velzeboer, and Yara van Kerkhof, representing the Netherlands. They set a new Olympic record in Final A. It was the first time a European team won the event. South Korea won silver, and China bronze.
