The World Trade Center of Grenoble (WTC G) is one of the 12 World Trade Centers in France [6] and one of 330 WTCs in the world. [7] It is located in the heart of the Europole district of Grenoble. It is certified by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) since 1988. [8] "The Silver Certification" has been given since 2008 corresponding to the new certification expectancies.

Description

The World Trade Center of Grenoble has been a member of the World Trade Centers Association since 1988. Its aim is to promote international business, as well as encourage the development of its corporations. The Association numbers approximately 300 World Trade Centers members worldwide. The WTC of Grenoble offers 8 different services: trade information services; business services; trade education services; WTC club facilities; tenant services; group trade missions; exhibit facilities and conference facilities. [9]

The World Trade Center of Grenoble, with its 9 floors, owns an auditorium, an atrium and 12 meeting rooms. [10] The first floor hosts the WTC Club; Grex; EEN (Enterprise Europe Network), the second floor hosts SODIE; AGEFOS PME, the third floor hosts APEC; B-Lands Consulting, the fourth floor is a Business Center and the floors 6 to 9 hosts Schneider Electric.

It offers professional events including conventions, lectures and forums. As of 1 August 2013, the World Trade Center of Grenoble had hosted more than 183 events attended by 21,300 persons.

History

In the 1980s, WTCs were only present in State Capitals, therefore Grenoble did not seem to be an option. Despite this major disadvantage, the city's CCI (Chamber of commerce) fought hard in order to make their application possible. The region's contribution to foreign trade and the work of Grenoble's international companies played an essential role. These elements allowed the city to get the licence delivered by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in 1988. Five years later, in 1993, the building was operational and ready to host both the business and the congress center. [1]

Business Center

The Business Center of the WTC Grenoble is located on the fourth floor. It allows individuals to meet up their clients and partners and to initiate business ventures. It also has 15 equipped offices and a conference room (with a capacity of 6 people) available for clients to rent on a daily or yearly basis. It can also act as a business address, with or without headquarters, for businesses. The Business Center offers a number of services including a hotline service, high-speed internet, photocopies, fax, and a postal service. [11]

Convention Center

The Convention Center of the WTC Grenoble is located on the first and second floors. It regularly hosts meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences and exhibitions such as the Agile conference in 2012 [12] or the IP - SoC (System on a chip) exhibition in 2013. [13] The building includes modular rooms which can be adapted from 200 to 534 seats.

Grex

Grex offers guidance services to enterprises on an international level. They deliver market information, countries' regulations as well as main financial aid available to enterprises wanting to export. Its guidance is relying on Ubifrance and Chambres de Commerce et d'Industrie Françaises à l'Etranger (CCIFE)'s networks. It proposes diverse specific programs combining information, formation, counseling and guidance in foreign markets. These are adapted to international maturity and to the strategies of each business. Tokyo Big Sight Japanese convention center

Tokyo Big Sight, officially known as Tokyo International Exhibition Center, is a convention and exhibition center in Tokyo, Japan, and the largest one in the country. Opened in April 1996, the center is located in the Ariake Minami district of Tokyo Waterfront City on the Tokyo Bay waterfront. Its most iconic feature is the visually distinctive Conference Tower. The name Tokyo Big Sight in Japanese eventually became the official name, and it also became the name of the operator in April 2003.

Chennai Trade Centre

Chennai Trade Centre is a permanent exhibition complex in Nandambakkam, Chennai, hosting several trade fairs and conventions round the year. It is the first fair infrastructure that has been developed by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)—the premier trade promotion agency of the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry—outside Delhi. A joint initiative of the ITPO and the Tamil Nadu Trade Promotion Organisation, which hold 51 and 49 percent stakes, respectively, the Trade Centre was designed by C R Narayan Rao, and was commissioned in January 2001, while the convention centre was commissioned on 1 November 2004. The exhibition hall was constructed at an estimated cost of ₹ 23 crore and the convention centre at a cost of ₹ 22 crore. Together, these centres cover 10,560 sq m and are fully booked for 75 days in a year. Built over an area of 25.48 acres, the centre comprises four modules of 4,400 m2 each of exhibition halls and support services to be built in a phased manner. In the first phase, two air-conditioned halls without pillars or columns encompassing areas of 5,000 m2 and 1,850 m2 were constructed. There are three halls, viz, Hall No. 1 (4,400 m2), Hall No. 2 (1,760 m2) and Hall No. 3 (4,400 m2). The halls feature a height of 6 m to display all merchandise including machinery. These have been supplemented recently with a modern, fully air-conditioned convention centre. All the halls are inter-linked, and Hall No. 3 is connected with the convention centre. The convention centre can accommodate 2,000 people with a provision for dividing the hall into two equal parts and has an audiovisual facility suitable for multi-purpose use such as conferences, conventions, cultural shows, and so forth. The Chennai Trade Centre is managed by Tamil Nadu Trade Promotion Organisation (TNTPO), a joint venture of ITPO and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO).

Beurs-World Trade Center

Nanjing International Expo Center

Nanjing International Expo Center is an exposition center and also a landmark in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. It has an exposition area of 120,000 square meters. The Expo Center facilities include six exposition pavilions, 38 conference rooms and a multi-function pavilion, and it is capable of hosting exhibitions with over 4,500 international standard large-scale exhibition booths. Two more exposition pavilions, a business hotel and a conference center hotel are planned.

World Trade Center Istanbul (WTCI) is a service company established in 1982 and based in Yeşilköy, Istanbul, Turkey, which, to promote international commerce and world trade, provides commercial information and market research services, organizes trade delegation programs, operates fair areas and offers office, convention and meeting halls, runs hotels within its organization. It is owned by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Bakırköy Municipality, Istanbul Chamber of Industry, Istanbul Commodity Exchange as well as Economic Development Foundation of Turkey.

World Trade Center Chennai

The World Trade Center Chennai is a 28-storied commercial center in Chennai, India. Located at Perungudi, it was made operational in March 2020. The center consists of 1,800,000 sq ft of office space. The complex also includes a conference/exhibition center. The towers are IGBC LEED Platinum and USGBC LEED Gold certified. The centre is a member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA).

The Puerto Rico World Trade Center (PRWTC), also known as the World Trade Center San Juan (WTCSJ), was an unbuilt World Trade Center that was to be located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Originally, the PRWTC was a program offered by the Puerto Rico Trade and Export Company, which held the license to operate the PRWTC brand, and the building would house it as well as many other facilities.
