Wounded Knees is a band whose core members are Jimi Shields (formerly of Rollerskate Skinny and Lotus Crown), ex-Mercury Rev flautist Suzanne Thorpe, and Phil Williams (ex-Hopewell).
Shields, based in Dublin, Ireland, and Thorpe, based in Troy, NY, started to collaborate years after their respective former bands had toured together in the 1990s. Thorpe says of her and Shields' decision to start the Wounded Knees, “He told me he was working on some material [and] it turned out that... our ears were at the same place, our emotional states were at the same place, and we were just locked into a similar path. We were feeling pretty empathetic toward each other [1] ”
The Wounded Knees released the All Rise EP on limited-edition 10" brown vinyl on Specific Recordings in 2008. [2] All Rise was mixed by Kevin Shields and features guitar work by J Mascis on the song, "Dirty (aka Dirty Exploding Sonic Dogfight)". [3]
In the fall of 2008, the Wounded Knees played a handful of tour dates supporting the newly reformed My Bloody Valentine. In December 2009, the band performed at the My Bloody Valentine-curated All Tomorrow's Parties festival 'A Nightmare Before Christmas'.
My Bloody Valentine are an Irish alternative rock band formed in Dublin in 1983, known for their early and influential shoegaze style. Kevin Patrick Shields is an American-born Irish musician, singer-songwriter, composer, and producer, best known as the vocalist and guitarist of the band My Bloody Valentine. My Bloody Valentine became extremely influential on the evolution of alternative rock with their two studio albums Isn't Anything (1988) and Loveless (1991), pioneering a subgenre known as shoegaze. Shields's texturised guitar sound and his experimentation with his guitars' tremolo systems resulted in the creation of the "glide guitar" technique, which became a recognisable aspect of My Bloody Valentine's sound, along with his meticulous production techniques.
Bardo Pond are an American psychedelic rock band formed in 1991, and who are currently signed to London-based label Fire Records. The current members are Michael Gibbons (guitar), John Gibbons (guitar), Isobel Sollenberger, Clint Takeda and Jason Kourkounis (drums). Bardo Pond's music is often classified as space rock, acid rock, post-rock, shoegazing, noise or psychedelic rock. Some Bardo Pond album titles have been derived from the names of esoteric psychedelic substances. Their sound has been likened to Pink Floyd, Spacemen 3 and My Bloody Valentine amongst others.
Jimi Shields, is an Irish architect and musician. He was a member of 1990s indie rock group Rollerskate Skinny. He formed the band, the Wounded Knees with former Mercury Rev flutist Suzanne Thorpe in 2001. In 2004, with wife and partner, Maria Vlahos, Shields established TTT – (thirtythreetrees), a Dublin based, multi award winning landscape architecture and garden design practice.
Rollerskate Skinny were an Irish band formed in 1992 by singer and guitarist Ken Griffin, guitarist Ger Griffin and bassist Stephen Murray, and were later joined by Jimmy Shields. They released two critically acclaimed albums, Shoulder Voices (1993) and Horsedrawn Wishes (1996).
Tremolo E.P. is an extended play by My Bloody Valentine, released in February 1991 by Creation Records. The EP was a critical success and topped the UK Indie Chart. It featured the single "To Here Knows When", which subsequently appeared on the band's second album Loveless.

Bullet for My Valentine, often abbreviated as BFMV, are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. Ecstasy is the second mini album by the alternative rock band My Bloody Valentine, released on 23 November 1987 on Lazy Records. Released in a limited edition of 3,000 copies, it was the band's final release for Lazy Records and second to feature vocalist and guitarist Bilinda Butcher, who was recruited in April 1987 following the departure of original My Bloody Valentine vocalist David Conway. Ecstasy followed the noise pop and twee pop standards of My Bloody Valentine's earlier releases for the label, drawing influence from various artists including The Jesus and Mary Chain, Love and The Byrds, and the album distanced the band further from their earlier post-punk and gothic rock sound.
