Yang Wenlu (born 13 January 1991) is a Chinese boxer. She won gold at the 2016 World Championships and the 2022 Asian Games.

Early life and education

Wenlu was born 13 January 1991. She attended the Ocean University of China, then in 2019, pursued a master's degree from the Shanghai University of Sport.

Career

Wenlu began her career in 2015 competing in the 64 kg category. Her first year, she won gold at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in Ulanqab and came in third at the Strandja Memorial in Sofia. The following year, she placed first at the Strandja Memorial and the World Championships in Astana, Khazakstan. [1]

In 2017, Wenlu switched to the Lightweight category and came in fifth at the Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City. [1] The following year, she came in fifth at both the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta [2] and the Asian Championships in Bangkok, though she took first at the 2019 Asian Championships. [1]

Wenlu didn't participate in major competitions again until 2023. That year, she came in third at the World Championships in New Delhi, second at the Standja Memorial, and first at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Honors

The General Administration of Sport of China named Wenlu an Elite Athlete of National Class in 2011, then an Elite Athlete of International Class in 2016. [1]

In 2022, the Sichuan Province Women's Federation named her a March 8th Red Flag Bearer. [1]

Subedar Amit Panghal Vishisht Seva Medal is an Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and an amateur boxer. He won silver medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships in the Flyweight division. Panghal won a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. Amit Panghal has received top seeding in the 52 kg category. Amit Panghal is the reigning Asian Games champion and a world championships silver-medalist Asian Elite Boxing Championships Panghal failed to defend his gold medal, that he won in 2019, against reigning Olympic and world champion Shakhobidin Zoirov of Uzbekistan to finish second-best in Dubai.

Chen Yile is an elite Chinese female artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 Asian all-around and balance beam champion, and the 2017 Asian junior all-around and uneven bars champion. She was a member of the team that won the bronze medal at the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Chen stars in the Olympic Channel documentary series "All Around", along with American gymnast Morgan Hurd and Russian gymnast Angelina Melnikova. The series shows her training and daily life as a 2020 Olympic hopeful.

Lovlina Borgohain is an Indian boxer. She won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in the women's welterweight event, becoming only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.
