Yantaringa railway station was located about 41 kilometres from Adelaide railway station on the Adelaide to Wolseley railway line.

History

Yantaringa station and siding opened sometime around 1883.[ citation needed ] The station, which takes its name from an Aboriginal word for "big lookout", [1] was located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Verdun, and is a few hundred metres to the east of the Yantaringa Tunnel. [2]

In 1925 it became a stopping place for rail motors. [3] The station/siding closed in 1964. [4]

Morris Cowley was an intermediate station on the Wycombe Railway which served the small town of Cowley, just outside Oxford, from 1908 to 1915, and again from 1928 to 1963. The station originally opened as part of an attempt by the Great Western Railway to enable to have more passengers access to the line, at a time when competition from bus services was drawing away patronage. The line through Morris Cowley remains open for the purposes of serving the BMW Mini factory, although the possibility of reinstating passenger services has been explored by Chiltern Railways, the franchise holder for the Chiltern Main Line which runs through Princes Risborough.

Adelaide River railway station is a former railway station on the now-closed narrow-gauge North Australia Railway, in the Northern Territory, Australia, 124 kilometres south of the Darwin terminus of the line. Now a museum with exhibits that include buildings, rolling stock and memorabilia, it is located on the main north–south road route through the Northern Territory, the Stuart Highway. It was one of the most significant stations on the line; the only station with a refreshment room.
