Yar Pyae is a Myanmar Army officer and the Minister for the Union Government Office as of 11 May 2021. He was appointed as the National Security Advisor on 22 May 2021. [1]
Yar Pyae graduated from the 22nd intake of the Defence Services Academy,in the same cohort as Soe Win. [2]
In November 2020,he chaired the Peace Negotiation Committee of Tatmadaw and also headed the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Committee. [3] [4]
In the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état,Yar Pyae has led efforts to dissuade major ethnic armed organisations,including United Wa State Army and the Shan State Progress Party,from joining the resistance movement and the National Unity Government. [5] As the chairman of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Committee (NSPC),he met with the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) and the Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army (Peace Council) at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center in Nay Pyi Taw on 26 April 2021. [6]
In August 2021,Sun Guoxiang,China's special envoy for Asian Affairs,met with Yar Pyae (along with military ruler Min Aung Hlaing and foreign minister Wunna Maung Lwin) and “exchanged views with them on the political landscape in Myanmar”. [7]
In September 2023,as part of a cabinet reshuffle,Yar Pyae was appointed by the junta as minister for home affairs,replacing Soe Htut,who was sacked for corruption. [8]
In January 2024,as part of a cabinet reshuffle,Yar Pyae was removed from his position as National Security Advisor to the chairman of the State Administration Council and replaced with Admiral Moe Aung. [9]
The National Unity Party (NUP) is a political party in Myanmar (Burma). It is the successor to the Burma Socialist Programme Party (BSPP),which ruled the country from 1962 to 1988. The party's headquarters are in Bahan Township,Yangon.
Senior general is the highest rank in the Tatmadaw,only held by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (CinCDS). Since 2011,an officer appointed as CinCDS has to be quickly promoted one higher rank every year until he get the rank of Senior general.

Min Aung Hlaing is the first Defence Services Academy (DSA) graduate in Myanmar to lead a military coup as well as the first DSA graduate to become Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
Soe Win is a Burmese army general and the current Deputy Prime Minister of Myanmar. Appointed following the formation of the provisional government on 1 August 2021,he holds essential roles,including Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC),Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Tatmadaw,and Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Army. He is also a member of Myanmar's National Defence and Security Council (NDSC).
General Mya Tun Oo is a Burmese army general and politician who currently serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of Myanmar and Union Minister for Transport and Communications of Myanmar since August 2023,prior to which he held the position of Union Minister of Defence and member of the State Administration Council (SAC) since February 2021.

Ni Lin Aung is a Myanmar Army officer and he is currently served as Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Chief of the Myanmar Police Force. He was a commander of the Eastern Central Command,which comprises central Shan State. Before being appointed in August 2022,he served as the commander of the Eastern Command. In February 2022,in the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'etat,he was sanctioned by the European Union for violating human rights and committing military atrocities and abuses against civilians,particularly for his culpability in the Mo So massacre in December 2021. As of January 2022,he held the rank of Major General.
Moe Aung is a Burmese naval admiral who currently serves as the commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy. He was appointed to this position following the 2021 Myanmar coup d'etat,succeeding Admiral Tin Aung San,who transitioned to a role of the State Administration Council (SAC),the military junta. As Commander-in-Chief,Moe Aung has overseen significant modernization efforts within the Myanmar Navy. His leadership has facilitated the acquisition of advanced naval assets,including new submarines,which have been crucial in enhancing Myanmar’s maritime defense capabilities. His tenure has focused on upgrading the navy's operational and strategic assets to improve its effectiveness. Moe Aung has played a key role in expanding the navy’s officer training programs,aimed at developing the skills and expertise of naval personnel. He has also been crucial in establishing strategic international partnerships with countries such as India and Russia.

Maung Maung Aye is a Burmese army general currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Defence of Myanmar since 18 December 2024. He was preceded in the role of Union Minister of Defence by General Tin Aung San. Prior to this,he served as the Chief of General Staff of the Army,Navy,and Air Force from February 2021 to 18 December 2024,succeeding General Mya Tun Oo and succeeded by Lieutenant General Kyaw Swar Lin. Maung Maung Aye played a critical role in the Myanmar military coup in February 2021,contributing to the ousting of the civilian government led by Aung San Suu Kyi. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general in 2019 and became a member of the State Administration Council on 25 September 2021,consolidating his position in Myanmar's military junta.
Tin Maung Win is a retired Burmese army general from the Tatmadaw and is currently serving as the Chief Minister of the Ayeyarwady Region Government. He retired from the army with the rank of lieutenant general.
