Yar Pyae is a Burmese military officer and the Minister for the Union Government Office as of 11 May 2021. He was appointed as the National Security Advisor on 22 May 2021. [1]
Yar Pyae graduated from the 22nd intake of the Defence Services Academy,in the same cohort as Soe Win. [2]
In November 2020,he chaired the Peace Negotiation Committee of Tatmadaw and also headed the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Committee. [3] [4]
In the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état,Yar Pyae has led efforts to dissuade major ethnic armed organisations,including United Wa State Army and the Shan State Progress Party,from joining the resistance movement and the National Unity Government. [5] As the chairman of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Committee (NSPC),he met with the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) and the Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army (Peace Council) at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center in Nay Pyi Taw on 26 April 2021. [6]
In August 2021,Sun Guoxiang,China's special envoy for Asian Affairs,met with Yar Pyae (along with military ruler Min Aung Hlaing and foreign minister Wunna Maung Lwin) and “exchanged views with them on the political landscape in Myanmar”. [7]
In September 2023,as part of a cabinet reshuffle,Yar Pyae was appointed by the junta as minister for home affairs,replacing Soe Htut,who was sacked for corruption. [8]
In January 2024,as part of a cabinet reshuffle,Yar Pyae was removed from his position as National Security Advisor to the chariman of the State Administration Council and replaced with Admiral Moe Aung. [9]
The National Unity Party (NUP) is a political party in Myanmar (Burma). It is the successor to the Burma Socialist Programme Party (BSPP),which ruled the country from 1962 to 1988. The party's headquarters are in Bahan Township,Yangon.
Senior general is the highest rank in Myanmar Armed Forces. It is held by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (CinCDS). Since 2011,a person appointed as CinCDS has to be quickly promoted one higher rank every year until he get the rank of Senior general.

He has led the Tatmadaw,an independent branch of government,as the Commander-in-chief of Defence Services since March 2011,when he was handpicked to succeed longtime military ruler Senior General Than Shwe,who transferred leadership over the country to a civilian government upon retiring. Before assuming leadership over the Tatmadaw,Min Aung Hlaing served as Joint Chief of Staff from 2010 to 2011.
Soe Win is a Burmese army general and the current Deputy Prime Minister of Myanmar. Appointed following the formation of the caretaker government on 1 August 2021,Soe Win hold essential roles,including Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council,Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Tatmadaw,and Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Army. He is also a member of Myanmar's National Defence and Security Council. In May 2012,former President of Myanmar,Thein Sein appointed Soe Win to the working committee of the government team responsible for negotiating with Myanmar's many armed ethnic rebel groups. He is a close associate of former Vice Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC),Vice-Senior General Maung Aye.
Border Guard Forces are subdivisions of the Tatmadaw consisting of former insurgent groups in Myanmar under the instruction of Regional Military Commands. The government announced its plan to create Border Guard Forces in April 2009,in the hopes of ending hostilities between the government and insurgent groups leading up to the 2010 general election.

He has been sanctioned by the European Union,Switzerland,and Canada for violating human rights and committing crimes against civilians.
Major General Ni Lin Aung is a Burmese military officer and he is currently served as Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Chief of the Myanmar Police Force. He was a commander of the Eastern Central Command,which comprises central Shan State. Before being appointed in August 2022,he served as the commander of the Eastern Command. In February 2022,in the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'etat,he was sanctioned by the European Union for violating human rights and committing military atrocities and abuses against civilians,particularly for his culpability in the Mo So massacre in December 2021. As of January 2022,he held the rank of Major General.
Admiral Moe Aung is a Burmese military officer. After the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état,Moe Aung was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy,succeeding Tin Aung San,who became a member of the State Administration Council,the military junta. In January 2024,he was appointed as National Security Advisor on the State Administration Council and Moe Aung's chief of staff Zwe Win Myint became the succeeding commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy.
General Htun Aung,also spelt Tun Aung,is a Burmese military officer. He currently serves as commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Air Force.
