Yaren İzzet Sözer (born 19 April 1997) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Heidelberg United. [1]

Central Coast Mariners

Sözer signed for A-League Men side Central Coast Mariners in October 2021 as a backup goalkeeper to Mark Birighitti. [2] He made his debut for the Mariners in a win over Wollongong Wolves on 1 December 2021 in the 2021 FFA Cup, coming on after 20 minutes when Birighitti was sent off. [3] With Birighitti suspended, Sözer made his A-League Men debut in the following game against Macarthur, however, he was forced from the field in the first half due to injury. [4]

Sözer made a third competitive appearance for the Mariners against Sydney FC in the opening round of the 2022 Australia Cup in July 2022. The game went to a penalty shoot-out, which the Mariners lost despite Sözer saving Adam Le Fondre's attempt. [5]

Sözer was a member of the Mariners side that won the 2022–23 A-League Men Championship. He departed the club at the conclusion of the season. [6]

Sozer played for the Australia under-20 side in a win over Myanmar at the 2016 AFF U-19 Youth Championship on 14 September 2016. [7]

Graham James Arnold is an Australian soccer manager and former player. Arnold was first appointed to work as a head coach of the Australian national soccer team in 2000. After head coach Frank Farina was sacked in 2005, Arnold worked with Guus Hiddink for the 2006 FIFA World Cup campaign, in which they made the second round of the finals. After Hiddink left, he became interim coach of the Socceroos. Arnold went on to qualify Australia's U23 men's national soccer team for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The 2020–21 Central Coast Mariners FC season is the club's 16th season since its establishment in 2004. The club will participate in the A-League for the 16th time. The club will not compete in the 2020 FFA Cup due to the event being cancelled following the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia.
