Alfréd Hajós was a Hungarian swimmer, football (soccer) player, referee, manager, and career architect. He was the first modern Olympic swimming champion and the first Olympic champion of Hungary. Formerly excelling in track including discus and hurdles, he was part of the first National European football/soccer team fielded by Hungary in 1902, later serving as a referee as well as the manager and coach of the national football team.

Hapoel Haifa Football Club is an Israeli professional football club located in the city of Haifa. The club won one championship (1998–99) and 4 Israeli cups. The team is also known as "The Sharks". Isaac "Ike" Berger was an American weightlifter, in the featherweight division, who competed for the United States at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics and won one gold and two silver medals. He held eight world records, and won the United States national title eight times. In the highest level international competition, he was world featherweight champion in 1958 and 1961, and was the runner-up for that title in 1957, 1959, and 1963.

He played for Maccabi Ramat Amidar, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Strasbourg, Rennes, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Shimshon Tel Aviv, Beitar Netanya, Hapoel Lod, and Maccabi HaShikma Ramat Hen. He earned a gold medal playing for Israel at the 1973 Maccabiah Games, and in 1976 he played for the Israel national football team in the Montreal Olympics.
