Young Aviators were a Scottish rock band based in Glasgow. [1] They released their debut album Self Help via the label Electric Honey in 2013. [2] They disbanded in 2016.
Young Aviators were formed in 2009 by childhood friends Decky McKay (singer/songwriter), Kyle Haughey (bassist) and John Markey (drummer). [3] [4] In 2014 keyboardist Oliver Melling joined the band. [5]
In 2009, they toured the UK with indie rock band Reef. [6] In 2011 they released their EP Hunting for Heaven, which was favourably reviewed in musicOMH, [7] and toured with The Subways in the UK. [8]
In 2012, they released their debut album Self Help under the indie label Electric Honey. [9] This became the biggest selling CD album in the labels history. [10]
The band toured in the UK, Germany and Austria tour supporting Sportfreunde Stiller [11] and had a supporting slot on tour with indie group Travis. [12] [13]
In August 2015, they released a music video on YouTube to accompany their new single "Drive-Thru Culture Night". [14]
Frontman Decky McKay went on to found alt-country band The Vicuñas in 2017. They released their self-titled EP in April 2018. [15]
Following a hiatus, the group released their latest EP 'Embrace the Inescapable' with Electric Honey in early 2023. [16]
Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, and composed of Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose. The band's name comes from the character Travis Henderson from the film Paris, Texas (1984). The band released their debut album, Good Feeling (1997), to moderate success where it debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart and was later awarded a silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in January 2000.
The Pastels are an indie rock group from Glasgow formed in 1981. They were a key act of the Scottish and British independent music scenes of the 1980s, and are specifically credited for the development of an independent and confident music scene in Glasgow. Electric Honey was founded in 1992 and is Glasgow Kelvin College's in-house record label run by Ken McCluskey, Douglas MacIntyre and formerly Alan Rankine along with students from the HNC/D Music Business course. The label celebrated its 25th year in 2017 with many events including the release of the debut album "Any Joy" from Scottish six-piece indie rock band; "Pronto Mama."

The flaws released three full-length studio albums between 2007 and 2016.

Costello Music is the debut album by Scottish indie rock band the Fratellis. It was released on 11 September 2006 on Fallout Records and Drop the Gun Recordings and on 13 March 2007 on Cherrytree Records in the US and was a success, peaking at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spent 83 weeks in the Top 100. It debuted behind FutureSex/LoveSounds by Justin Timberlake and stayed in the No. 2 position for two more weeks, this time behind Ta-Dah by Scissor Sisters. The album had five single releases, as well as the download-only EP Flathead. "Chelsea Dagger" was the most successful single, peaking at No. 5 in the UK and No. 4 in the Netherlands, but the other singles failed to chart in most countries.

Kid Canaveral was a Scottish alternative pop band that formed in St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, but are now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since 2007 the band have released a number of well received singles, an E.P. and an album on their own label, Straight to Video Records, and in 2011 they signed with Scottish independent label Fence Records. The band left Fence Records to join Johnny Lynch on his new label Lost Map Records in August 2013. The band have received praise for their pop hooks and melodies, and their energetic and engaging live performances. Their second record Now That You Are a Dancer was nominated for the 2014 Scottish Album of the Year Award. The group released their third record Faulty Inner Dialogue, via Lost Map Records, on 29 July 2016.
Kurt Travis is an American singer, musician, and songwriter from Sacramento, California. He is currently part of the post-hardcore bands Royal Coda and Push Over and the math rock duo Gold Necklace and was formerly a vocalist in the rock bands Dance Gavin Dance and A Lot Like Birds.
