Otsego County is a county in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,524. The county seat is Cooperstown. The county's population center is Oneonta. The name Otsego is from a Mohawk or Oneida word meaning "place of the rock." The county is part of the Mohawk Valley region of the state.
Warren is a town in Herkimer County, New York, United States. The population was 1,143 at the 2010 census. The town is named after General Joseph Warren, who was killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Warren is in the south part of Herkimer County. US 20 passes across the town.
Herkimer is a village on the north side of the Mohawk River and the county seat of Herkimer County, New York, United States, about 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Utica. As of the 2020 Census, it had a population of 7,234, and a predicted population of 7,283 on July 1, 2022. It was part of the Burnetsfield Patent and the first colonial settlement this far west in the Mohawk Valley.

New York State Route 28 (NY 28) is a state highway extending for 281.69 miles (453.34 km) in the shape of a "C" between the Hudson Valley city of Kingston and southern Warren County in the U.S. state of New York. Along the way, it intersects several major routes, including Interstate 88 (I-88), U.S. Route 20 (US 20), and the New York State Thruway twice. The southern terminus of NY 28 is at NY 32 in Kingston and the northern terminus is at US 9 in Warrensburg. In Kingston, NY 28 is co-designated as Interstate 587 from its southern terminus at NY 32 to the roundabout linking it to the Thruway (I-87).
Otsego Lake is a 4,046-acre (16.37 km2) lake located in Otsego County in the U.S. state of New York. It is the source of the Susquehanna River and largest lake in Otsego County. The Village of Cooperstown is located at the lake's southern end. Glimmerglass State Park is located on the lake's northeastern shore, and includes Hyde Hall, a large mansion constructed in 1817, that overlooks the lake. The Glimmerglass Opera, opened in June 1987, is located on the western shore.
Canadarago Lake is a 1,917-acre (7.76 km2) lake located in Otsego County, New York and is the source of Oaks Creek. The Village of Richfield Springs is located at the lake's northern end. It is the second largest lake in Otsego County, lying to the west of and parallel to the larger Otsego Lake. The lake's name is also spelled "Candajarago Lake" or "Caniadaraga Lake".

The West Canada Creek is a 76-mile-long (122 km) river in upstate New York, United States. West Canada Creek is an important water way in Hamilton, Oneida, and Herkimer counties, draining the south part of the Adirondack Mountains before emptying into the Mohawk River near the Village of Herkimer. The name "Canada" is derived from an Iroquoian word for "village" (Kanata).
New York State Route 205 (NY 205) is a 23.24-mile-long (37.40 km) north–south state highway in central Otsego County, New York, in the United States. It extends from Interstate 88 (I-88) at exit 13 near the city of Oneonta to a junction with NY 28 and NY 80 in the town of Otsego. The latter junction also marks the east end of a 2.1-mile (3.4 km) overlap between NY 205 and NY 80, from where NY 80 heads southeast to follow NY 28 to Cooperstown. NY 205 is a two-lane highway for its entire length and passes through the towns of Oneonta, Laurens and Hartwick.
Oaks Creek is a river that drains Canadarago Lake, which is situated in the north central region of Otsego County, New York. The creek begins by the Hamlet of Schuyler Lake and flows southeast approximately 9.32 miles (15.00 km), dropping only 105 feet (32 m) in elevation, before converging with the Susquehanna River south of the Village of Cooperstown, by the Hamlet of Index. From the source to Oaksville the creek flows along Panther Mountain. Fly Creek is a main tributary, that converges with Oaks Creek south of the Hamlet of Fly Creek.
Cripple Creek is a river in southern Herkimer County and northern Otsego County in the state of New York. It begins northeast of Warren and flows through Weaver Lake then Young Lake before flowing into Otsego Lake south of Springfield Center. Was formally referred to as Lawyers Creek.
Mink Creek or Otskonoga, also known as Trout Brook, is a stream in northern Otsego County, New York. Its source is adjacent to US Route 20 just east of the community of Brighton and west-northwest of the Village of Richfield Springs and flows northeast into an unnamed swamp in adjacent Herkimer County. It then exits the swamp and flows south back into Otsego County before converging with Canadarago Lake south of Richfield Springs. The Iroquois' name for the creek is Otskonoga.
Herkimer Creek is a river in Otsego County in the state of New York. It begins west-southwest of the Hamlet of Richfield and northwest of the Hamlet of Dogtown and begins flowing mostly southeast before flowing into Canadarago Lake northeast of the Hamlet of Schuyler Lake.
Shadow Brook, also known as East Springfield Brook, is a river in northern Otsego County in the U.S. State of New York. It begins north-northeast of the Hamlet of East Springfield, and flows into Otsego Lake south-southeast of the Hamlet of Springfield Center, near Glimmerglass State Park. It is the largest watershed in the Otsego Lake basin.
Payne Lake is located by Oxbow, New York. The outlet creek empties into the Oswegatchie River. Fish species present in the lake are largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, yellow perch, tiger muskie, bluegill, and black crappie. There is a state owned hard surface ramp located west of Oxbow, New York and there is a 10-horsepower limit.
Norwood Lake is a man-made lake located by Norwood, New York. Fish species present in the reservoir are smallmouth bass, northern pike, rock bass, yellow perch, and walleye. There is a carry down boat launch located on Riverside Road.
Beaver Lake is located west of Moshier Falls, New York. Fish species present in the lake are pickerel, yellow perch, white sucker, and black bullhead. There is carry down trail access from the Reliant Energy/NYSDEC parking lot.
Weaver Lake, also called Weavers Lake, is located in the town of Warren in Herkimer County, New York. Maumee Swamp is located north of and drains into Weaver Lake. Weaver Lake is north of and drains into Young Lake. Weaver and Young Lakes are collectively known as either "Waiontha Lakes" or "the Little Lakes". Waiontha Mountain, located southwest was named after the Waiontha Lakes.
Summit Lake is a small lake in Otsego County, New York. It is located northeast of Springfield Center. Summit Lake is unique, as it drains south via Hayden Creek which flows into Otsego Lake as well as north toward the Mohawk River. Fish species present in the lake include largemouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead and yellow perch.
