Yury Revich (born 28 August 1991) is a Russian-born Austrian classical violinist and composer. [1] He was named the Young Artist of the Year in 2015 by the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) [2] and the 2016 ECHO Klassik "Newcomer of the year (violin)" award. [3] [1] He plays on a Stradivari 1709 violin on loan from the Goh Family Foundation. [4] [1]
Born in Moscow, Revich studied with Galina Turchaninovoy from 2005 to 2009, with Victor Pikaizen, and since 2009 with Pavel Vernikov at the Konservatorium Wien . [1] [5] Amongst his other awards are Man of The Year by LOOK in Austria [6] and Bernsteingeiger Award by Beethoven Center Vienna. [7] His recording of music by Chevalier de Saint-Georges was listed in Billboard Top 100 Classical Charts [8] and is part of the soundtrack of the Bridgerton series on Netflix. [9] He was a scholarship holder of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation, participated in the International Charity Funds of Nahum Guzik [10] and Vladimir Spivakov. In May 2009, he made his debut with Daniil Trifonov at New York's Carnegie Hall. [1] [11]
He runs his International Multidisciplinary Festival "Festival Nights with Yury Revich" [12] (Formerly known as Friday Nights with Yury Revich) and Project "Dreamland" [13] [14] and works with musicians and artists from different genres such as Martha Argerich, [15] Ute Lemper, [16] Steven Isserlis, [15] William Orbit, [17] Rupert Everett, [17] [18] Amos Gitai, [19] [20] Andrea Bocelli, [21] Pixie Lott, [22] Sunnyi Melles and Philipp Hochmair, [23] Gabriel Prokofiev [24] and others.
He has performed at international Festivals, such as the Verbier Festival, Cannes Film Festival, [25] Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, [26] Rheingau Musik Festival, [27] Al Bustan Festival in Beirut, [28] Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier, [29] Festival della Valle D'Itria in Martina Franca, [30] Aurora Music Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, [31] Vladimir Spivakov's Festival in Colmar (France), the Rostropovich Festival in Baku (Azerbaijan), the Rome Chamber Music Festival, Liana Isakadze's Festival in Batumi (Georgia), the Festival of music in Kaunas (Lithuania), and the Eilat Festival in Israel. Revich has received several awards at international competitions for young musicians – in particular, the first prize at the International Violin Competition "Virtuosi of the 21st Century" in Moscow. French master luthier Alain Carbonare presented Revich with a Carbonare violin. [33] He won the first prize of the Guzik Foundation.
Named as "New Paganini" by medias, [34] [35] in 2013 The Strad wrote:

He first played at Zurich Tonhalle and La Scala in Milan (Italy) in 2013, performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi conducted by Zhang Xion. [5] Since then he plays as a solo violinist in venues like Golden Hall of Musikverein in Vienna, [38] Berlin Philharmonic Hall, [39] Salle Pleyel, [40] Bozar in Brussels and others.

In 2015 Revich launched a new international multidisciplinary concert cycle in Vienna "Friday Nights with Yury Revich". [51] Since 2023 the project has been renamed into multidisciplinary Festival Nights with Yury Revich [12] In June 2015 he organized the First Gala Concert in Vienna "All for Autism" to support the Austrian Center for Autism (Österreichische Autistenhilfe). The Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, was written by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1806. Its first performance by Franz Clement was unsuccessful and for some decades the work languished in obscurity, until revived in 1844 by the then 12-year-old violinist Joseph Joachim with the orchestra of the London Philharmonic Society conducted by Felix Mendelssohn. Joachim would later claim it to be the "greatest" German violin concerto. Since then it has become one of the best-known and regularly performed violin concertos.

Ferdinand Ries was a German composer. Ries was a friend, pupil and secretary of Ludwig van Beethoven. He composed eight symphonies, a violin concerto, nine piano concertos, three operas, and numerous other works, including 26 string quartets. In 1838 he published a collection of reminiscences of his teacher Beethoven, co-written with Beethoven's friend, Franz Wegeler. Ries' symphonies, some chamber works—most of them with piano—his violin concerto and his piano concertos have been recorded, exhibiting a style which, given his connection to Beethoven, lies between the Classical and early Romantic styles.

Lars Vogt was a German classical pianist, conductor and academic teacher. Noted by The New York Times for his interpretations of Brahms, Vogt performed as a soloist with major orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic. Iván Erőd was a Hungarian-Austrian composer and pianist. Educated in Budapest, he emigrated to Austria in 1956, where he studied at the Vienna Music Academy. He was successful as a pianist and composer of operas, chamber music and much more, with elements from serialism, Hungarian folk music and jazz. He first was a professor of music theory and composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (1967–1989), then a professor of composition at the Vienna Music Academy from 1989.
