Yvonne Zima (born January 16, 1989 [1] ) is an American actress. She is known for her role as Daisy Carter on The Young and the Restless .

Early life

Zima was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, [1] the daughter of Dennis and Marie. Her surname means "winter" in Polish and comes from her maternal grandfather, who was of Polish descent. [2]

Career

Zima played a small part in the movie Heat (1995) where she was briefly taken hostage and then rescued by Al Pacino's character, and a breakthrough role as Caitlin, the daughter of Geena Davis's character, in the film The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996). [3] [4] She also played Rachel Greene on the series ER from 1994 to 2000. [5] Zima played Daisy on the series The Young and the Restless on and off between 2009 and 2012. [6] [7]

Personal life

Zima's older sisters, Madeline and Vanessa, are also actresses.

The Long Kiss Goodnight is a 1996 American action thriller film co-produced and directed by Renny Harlin, and produced by Shane Black and Stephanie Austin with screenplay written by Black. It stars Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Amandes, Yvonne Zima, Brian Cox, Patrick Malahide, Craig Bierko, and David Morse. Daisy Carter is a fictional character from the American CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Created and introduced by former head writer Maria Arena Bell, the character was portrayed by Yvonne Zima. She debuted during the episode airing on October 30, 2009, under an alias, later revealed to be the daughter of Sheila Carter and Tom Fisher. Bell created Daisy and stated Sheila was back in a new form. Daisy later raped Daniel Romalotti, drugging him to believe he was sleeping with his then wife Amber Moore. She became pregnant with his child, and gave birth to a girl, Lucy, in 2011. However, she later abandoned her in a church and the child was placed in an illegal adoption ring. After Daisy was sent to prison for her actions, Daniel's mother Phyllis Summers gained custody of Lucy after Daniel gave up his parental rights. In 2012, Daisy was released from prison by Avery Bailey Clark and reclaimed her daughter, later earning full custody. Daniel then married Daisy to be close to his child, and after Daisy went missing, Daniel has been raising Lucy.
