Toulon (1988–1998), was a Thoroughbred racehorse and sire who was bred in Britain and trained in France. In a career which lasted from October 1990 until October 1992, he ran eleven times and won four races. He recorded his most important success when winning the Classic St. Leger Stakes as a three-year-old in 1990, the same year in which he won the Chester Vase and the Prix Maurice de Nieuil as well as finishing fourth in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. In the following season he failed to win in four races in Europe and had limited success when racing in California in 1993. He was then retired to stud, where he proved to be a successful sire of National Hunt horses.
Dansili is a British Thoroughbred racehorse. He won five races, including the Prix du Muguet. After retiring from racing he became a successful stallion, with his progeny including Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Rail Link and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Harbinger. He also became Champion sire in France in 2006.
Caracalla was a French racehorse and sire. Unraced as a two-year-old and never competing at a distance shorter than 2,400 metres he was undefeated in eight races in a racing career which lasted from the spring of 1945 until October 1946. Caracalla excelled over extended distances, winning the Grand Prix de Paris and the Prix Royal Oak in France and the Ascot Gold Cup in Britain. On his final appearance he proved himself capable of beating top class opposition at middle distances when he won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He was then retired to stud, where his record was disappointing.
Scratch, also known as Scratch II was a French Thoroughbred racehorse and sire best known for winning the Prix du Jockey Club and the classic St Leger Stakes in 1950. Scratch won the Solario Stakes in England as a two-year-old and emerged as one of the best of a very strong generation of French-trained colts in the following year. He won the Prix de Guiche and Prix Greffulhe in the early part of the year and then defeated the year's outstanding three-year-old colt Tantieme in the Prix du Jockey Club. In the autumn of 1950 he won the St Leger by defeating Vieux Manoir, who had beaten him in the Grand Prix de Paris. He won the Prix Jean Prat as a four-year-old before being retired to stud where he had an unremarkable record as a sire of winners in Europe and South America.
Crystal Palace was a French thoroughbred racehorse and sire. After winning one of his two races as a two-year-old he emerged as a top-class middle distance performer in 1977 recording victories in the Prix de Courcelles, Prix du Jockey Club and Prix Niel. He also finished second in the Prix Lupin, fourth in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and third in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. At the end of his racing career he was retired to stud and proved to be a successful breeding stallion in France and Japan.
Mon Talisman was a French Thoroughbred racehorse. He was unraced as a two-year-old but made an immediate impact as a three-year-old in 1927, winning his first four races, the Prix Juigné, Prix Daru, Prix Lupin and Prix du Jockey Club. After being beaten by Fiterari in the Grand Prix de Paris he returned in the autumn to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He won the Prix du Président de la République on his only appearance in 1928 and was then retired to stud. He had moderate success as a breeding stallion before his disappearance in 1940.
New Bay is a British-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse. As a three-year-old in 2015 he won the Prix du Jockey Club, Prix Guillaume d'Ornano and Prix Niel before finishing third in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Wemyss Bight was a British-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She was successful in her only start as a two-year-old in 1992 and developed into a top-class middle-distance performer in the following year. She won the Prix Penelope, Prix Cléopâtre and Prix de Malleret in France before recording her biggest win in the Irish Oaks and also finished second in the Prix Vermeille. After being retired from racing she became a successful broodmare, producing the Arlington Million winner Beat Hollow. She died in April 2009 at the age of 19.
