Zekū (是空) is the third studio album released by Japanese band Mucc on September 3, 2003. Released by Universal Gear, it is their major label debut. Zekū reached number 17 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
In 2022, guitarist and principal songwriter Miya recalled that recording Zekū was painful as they were in the studio until 5 a.m. every day. [1] He also insisted on recording with tape, but had to splice it in so many different places because he made mistakes in his performance, that the powder came out. They originally had a ¥10 million budget, but costs went up to ¥15 million because recording took so long. [1]
Miya said that prior to Zekū (2003) and Kuchiki no Tō (2004), his lyrics were about past events and "traumas" he experienced, but with these two albums he wrote about present inner feelings within the band. [1] Despite audiences loving the shows, he seems to regret having done this as he speculated that he drank a lot on those tours so he would not have to face what he was expressing on stage. [1]
The first press limited edition release included a DVD, different artwork, and a bonus one track CD. The European version, released on May 19, 2006, features two bonus tracks which were b-sides from the single "Waga, Arubeki Basho". [2]
Zekū reached number 17 on the Oricon Albums Chart. [3] Mucc re-recorded "Bōzenjishitsu", "1979", and "Ranchū" for their 2017 self-cover album Koroshi no Shirabe II This is Not Greatest Hits. "Bōzenjishitsu" and "Ranchū" were covered by Lynch. and Rottengraffty respectively, for the 2017 Mucc tribute album Tribute of Mucc -En-.

Mucc is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1997. The classic line up of Tatsuro on vocals, Miya on guitar, Yukke on bass, and Satochi on drums was solidified in 1999 following the departure of original bassist Hiro. After 24 years, Satochi retired from the music industry in October 2021, leaving Mucc a trio. They have released 16 studio albums, with 2020's Aku being their highest-charting. Although predominately a heavy band both lyrically and musically, Mucc is known for switching between music genres and styles frequently. Kerrang! included their fourth studio album Kuchiki no Tō (2004) on a list of 13 essential Japanese rock and metal albums.
Kuchiki no Tō is the fourth studio album by Japanese rock band Mucc, released on September 1, 2004, by Danger Crue Records. A European version was released on September 12, 2005, by Gan-Shin. The album reached number 19 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
Hōyoku (鵬翼) is the fifth studio album by Japanese band Mucc, released on November 23, 2005. It shows the band exploring new territory with less heavy material, drawing from folk influences. The album reached number 22 on the Oricon Albums Chart.

D'erlanger is a Japanese rock band from Kyoto Prefecture, formed in 1983 by guitarist Cipher and bassist Seela. While they originally played speed and power metal, after recruiting drummer Tetsu and vocalist Kyo they switched to a punk rock sound for their debut album La Vie En Rose in 1989. Although it was on an indie label, it sold out and was reissued three times that year, earning them a major label record deal with BMG Japan the following year. They released Basilisk in March 1990 and it reached the top five on the charts. However, in December the group suddenly announced their disbandment.
Hōmura Uta is the second studio album by the Japanese rock band Mucc, released on September 6, 2002. It is the first album to be released by their sublabel Shu, under Danger Crue. Hōmura Uta was reissued two times, with the 2004 version reaching number 48 on the Oricon Albums Chart. Mucc re-recorded the entire album and released it as Shin Hōmura Uta on August 9, 2017.
Shion (志恩) is the eighth album by Japanese rock band Mucc, released on March 26, 2008. It was released in the United States on November 25, 2008, and in the United Kingdom on October 13, 2008. The UK edition features a live version "Libra", and the music video for "Fuzz". The album reached number 13 on the Oricon Albums Chart. The song "Fuzz" also appears in the American film Cloverfield.
Kyūtai (球体) is the ninth album by Mucc, released on March 4, 2009. Daisuke from Kagerou sings the chorus on "Hōkō". Tracks 3 and 10 were produced with Ken from L'Arc-en-Ciel. Miya's mother sings the chorus on the 7-minute song "Sanbika", as the song was written about the death of his grandmother. The album reached number 12 on the Oricon chart.
Karma (カルマ) is the tenth album by Mucc, released on October 6, 2010. It features a variety of genres "mixing the best of many worlds while keeping the sound their own." The album reached number 11 on the Oricon chart. Tracks 2 & 3 were arranged by Miya and Space Walkers, while track 14 was arranged by Miya and Ken from L'Arc-en-Ciel.
Sukekiyo is a Japanese rock band formed in 2013 by Dir En Grey vocalist Kyo. It is sometimes referred to as a supergroup as every member of the band is or has been in other well-known acts in the Japanese visual kei movement, although only Kyo is currently active in another band.

They made their third major label debut on Tokuma Japan Communications in 2024.

He is also a guitarist of the supergroup Petit Brabancon. In addition to his work as a musician, Miya also works as a DJ and as a record producer and audio engineer for other artists. He also makes and sells homemade audio equipment with engineer Koji Watanabe under the brand name Yaguchi Watanabe Densen (矢口渡邉電線).

Tatsuro is a Japanese singer and songwriter. He is best known as lead vocalist of the visual kei rock band Mucc since 1997. Tatsuro began a solo career in December 2021 and simultaneously released the albums = (Equal) and Hikagaku Hoteishiki the following year. Both reached the top 35 on the Oricon chart. His third album, Colors (2024), became his highest-charting solo release to date when it reached number 29.
