Ziegleria hernandezi is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Trinidad [2] and on Cuba. [3]
Lycaenidae is the second-largest family of butterflies, with over 6,000 species worldwide, whose members are also called gossamer-winged butterflies. They constitute about 30% of the known butterfly species.

The habitat of subspecies S. s. stephaniae and S. s. mindanensis overlaps on the islands of Mindanao and Leyte.

Many sephirus populations are threatened, and are legally protected in some countries, such as Hungary.
