Zilveren Harp

The Zilveren Harp (Silver Harp) was a Dutch award given annually to promising musical talent. The award is very prestigious and winners were chosen by a different jury each year. The Zilveren Harp was given by the foundation "Buma Cultuur", which aims to promote Dutch music.

Contents

The award was given in 1969-2011; except for the year 1972.

Buma Cultuur also presents the Gouden Harp award, which is given to an artist for his entire oeuvre and Buma Export Award for acts which are successful abroad.

In 2000, Bauer won a Zilveren Harp awarded by Dutch organization BUMA/STEMRA. What began as electropop on earlier albums developed over time into orchestral pop.

Pete Philly & Perquisite is a hip hop duo from the Netherlands consisting of Pedro Philip Monzón as the MC/vocalist and Pieter "Perquisite" Perquin as the cellist, producer and composer of all the music. Their music is best described as hip hop with influences from jazz, broken beat and soul. They usually performed live together with DJ PCM, Remco Keijzer on saxophone, EWI and flute, Kasper Kalf on double-bass and Ruben Hein on keys.

The Golden Harp(Dutch: Gouden Harp) is awarded annually to Dutch musicians for their entire oeuvre. Golden Harps have been awarded 42 times. 149 different persons or (musical) groups have had the honour of receiving the award which is considered to be one of the most important prizes in Dutch music.

It was rush-released in 1979 a few weeks after the formation had left Philips to sign a record deal with the labels CNR/Carrere Records. It features hit singles scored in the charts between 1977 and 1979: "My Man", "U.O.Me", "You're the Greatest Lover", "Trojan Horse", "Casanova" and "Eeny Meeny Miny Moe". These songs were originally released in their first and second studio albums, With Luv' (1978) and Lots of Luv' (1979). The Philips/Phonogram years were the group's most successful ones in terms of chart performance.
