The 16th Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films and Pakistani television of 2016, took place on April 19, 2017 at Expo Center, Karachi, Sindh. [1] During the ceremony, LUX presented the Lux Style Awards (commonly referred as LSA) in four segments including Film, Fashion, Television, and Music. [2] Actor in Law remained most awards winning film with 4 awards while Udaari remained most awards winning TV series by winning 3 awards. [3]

Ceremony information

In early April 2017, it was announced that Hassan Sheheryar Yasin was the show's director instead of Frieha Altaf. Altaf had previously been the director for Lux Style Awards since its inception in 2002 except for the 3rd Lux Style Awards event. [8] On 9 April 2017, in a press conference the show's director Hassan Sheheryar Yasin announced that Atif Aslam would host the ceremony. Aslam expressed that it felt good to host Lux Style Awards. [9] Osman Khalid Butt was chosen as the scriptwriter for the award ceremony. [10]

In his acceptance speech for the Best TV Actor award, Ahsan Khan paid tribute to Mashal Khan, who was lynched by a charged mob over blasphemy allegations a few days earlier. [11] During the ceremony, the Turkish actor Halit Ergenç was presented the International Icon award. It was the first time an international celebrity was honoured at the LSAs. [7]

M. Nadeem J. was the TV director for LSA in 2017 and has been since 2005. He was also the producer of the show in 2017 and 2018.

The 2002 Lux Style Awards, officially known as the 1st Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by the Lux Style Awards, honours the best films of 2001 and took place between 18–20 February 2002. The programme was developed by Naheed Chowdhry, who co-created the concept with Frieha Altaf, the producer of the tv series Lux Style Ki Duniya. "I wanted to ensure that there was a sustainable legacy created that impartially assessed contributors and gave back to society through scholarships in the arts and culture arena", says Chowdhry."One that would go on to be recognised as the 'Oscars' of Pakistan."

The 2008 Lux Style Awards, officially known as the 7th Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by the Lux Style Awards honours the best films of 2008 and took place at the DHA Golf Club, Karachi on 29 October 2008. This year, the city of lights played host to the Pakistani Film Industry.

The 15th Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films and Pakistani television of 2015, took place on July 29, 2016 at Expo Center, Karachi, Sindh beginning at 7:30 p.m. PST. During the ceremony, LUX presented the Lux Style Awards in four segments including Film, Fashion, Television, and Music. The ceremony was televised in Pakistan by Geo Entertainment and produced by Lux Unilever Pakistan.

<i>With Samina Peerzada</i> Pakistani web television talk show

With Samina Peerzada is a Pakistani web television talk show hosted by Samina Peerzada that first aired on December 22, 2017 on YouTube. The series was created by Peerzada in collaboration with Muhammad Adnan Butt, CEO Dot Republic Media. Each episode is separately sponsored and features a Pakistani celebrity interviewed by Peerzada about their journeys, struggles, challenges and success. Each season is titled differently.

Aima Baig is a Pakistani singer. Her full name is Aima Noor-ul Ain Baig. She started her career in 2014 when she uploaded her songs onto SoundCloud, through which she was approached by different people. She is known for her appearances on Dunya News' program Mazaaq Raat from 2015 to 2017. She rose to fame thanks to her songs in Lahore Se Aagey (2016), after which she gained popularity through many other soundtracks, and her appearance in Coke Studio. She was awarded Tamgha-e-Fakhre-Imtiaz in August 2019.

Alif is a 2019 Pakistani spiritual-romantic TV series created by Sana Shahnawaz and Samina Humayun Saeed under their newly formed production house Epic Entertainment. It was written by Umera Ahmad based on her novel of same name and directed by Haseeb Hassan. It starred Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan and Ahsan Khan in leading roles.

<i>Parey Hut Love</i> 2019 film by Asim Raza

Parey Hut Love is a 2019 Pakistani romantic comedy film, directed by Asim Raza. Written by Imran Aslam, the story revolves around a young free-willed, commitment-phobic, aspiring actor Sheheryar and a strong-willed girl, Saniya and their romance as they meet and fall in love over a series of unplanned encounters at the weddings of their friends and family. Parey Hut Love also stars Nadeem Baig, Ahmed Ali Butt, Zara Noor Abbas, Hina Dilpazeer, Faheem Azam, Rachel Viccaji, Munawar Siddiqui, Parisheh James, Jimmy Khan, Frieha Altaf, Yousuf Bashir Qureshi & Shahbaz Shigri in prominent roles. The film also features a cameo by actress Mahira Khan and a special appearance by actor Fawad Khan. There are also cameos from Meera, Sonya Jehan, Ahmad Ali Akbar, Cybil Chowdhry and others. The movie is Maya Ali’s second movie after her super hit Teefa in Trouble.

The 19th Lux Style Awards presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films and Pakistani television of 2019, held digitally on 31 December 2020. The awards were held virtually due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world.

Frieha Altaf is a Pakistani actress, former model, host, film director, producer and human rights activist. She is the CEO of her own Catwalk Event Management and Sahil which she founded in 1989. She also worked in classic dramas Rozi and Kohar. Frieha also worked in many films Lahore Se Aagey, Wajood, Baaji and Parey Hut Love.
