The 2011 Indian Volley League season was the debut season of the Indian Volley League, established by Volleyball federation of India in 2011. The season commenced on the 29 May 2011 till 24 June 2011. First season was won by Chennai Spikers.

The 2013 season of the Indian Premier League, abbreviated as IPL 6 or Pepsi IPL 2013, was the sixth season of the IPL, established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. YSR Indoor Stadium is an indoor sporting arena located in Yanam, which is part of Union Territory of Pondichery. The capacity of the arena is 2,000 people. It hosted some events for the Indian Volley League in 2011.

Yanam Tigers was a franchise volleyball team based in Yanam, Puducherry that played in the Indian Volley League. The team was founded in 2011. Yanam Tigers finished third in the first edition, in 2011.

2016 Pro Kabaddi League season was the third season of Pro Kabaddi League, a professional kabaddi league played in India since 2014. Pro Kabaddi, which saw astounding success in its second season, was all set to make its much awaited return for a third season from 30 January 2016, just five months after completion of the second season. Hyderabad hosted the opening leg of Season 3, with the first match being played between Telugu Titans and U Mumba at the Titan's home turf, Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.The winner is Patna Pirates.

Mumbai Indians were the two times defending champions, having won both the 2019 and the 2020 seasons. Ahead of the tournament, Kings XI Punjab were renamed as the Punjab Kings.
