The 2019 Yau Tsim Mong District Council election was held on 24 November 2019 to elect all 20 members to the Yau Tsim Mong District Council. [1]

The pro-Beijing parties suffered major setbacks in the election amid the massive pro-democracy protests, while a pro-democracy local political group Community March emerged as the largest party in the council with the pro-democrats controlling the council for the first time.

Kowloon West (1998 constituency)

It currently consists of 32 members of which 31 are directly elected from the 31 constituencies of the district, one ex-officio member who is the Tsing Yi Rural Committee chairman. Island Harbourview Housing estate in Tai Kok Tsui, Hong Kong

Island Harbourview is one of the largest private housing estates in Tai Kok Tsui, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is one of the property projects in MTR Olympic station Phase I. Developed by MTR Corporation, Sino Land, Bank of China, Kerry Properties, China Overseas Land and Investment and Capitaland Commercial Limited, it comprises nine high-rise buildings, which were completed in 1998 and 1999. The towers are numbered from one to ten, but there is no tower four due to local superstition.

Metro Harbour View

Metro Harbour View is a private housing estate at the intersection of Tai Kok Tsui Road and Fuk Lee Street in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, within walking distance to the MTR Olympic station.

1999 Hong Kong local elections

The 1999 Hong Kong District Council elections were held on 28 November 1999 for all 18 districts of Hong Kong, for 390 members from directly elected constituencies out of total 519 council members. It was the first District Council election after the handover of Hong Kong in 1997, replacing the existing Provisional District Councils appointed by Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa.

Yau Tsim Mong District Council

The Yau Tsim Mong District Council is the district council for the Yau Tsim Mong District in Hong Kong. It is one of 18 such councils. The Yau Tsim Mong District Council currently consists of 20 members, of which the district is divided into 20 constituencies, electing a total of 20 members. It was merged from the Mong Kok District Board and Yau Tsim District Board in 1994 due to the significant drop of the population in the districts. The latest election was held on 24 November 2019.

Olympic (constituency)

Olympic is one of the 20 constituencies of the Yau Tsim Mong District Council in Hong Kong. The seat elects one member of the council every four years. It was first created in 2011 and is formerly held by the Democratic Party's James To. The boundary is loosely based on the area of Olympian City.

2012 Hong Kong legislative election in Kowloon West

These are the Kowloon West results of the 2012 Hong Kong legislative election. The election was held on 9 September 2012 and all 5 seats in Kowloon West where consisted of Yau Tsim Mong District, Sham Shui Po District and Kowloon City District were contested. Ann Chiang replacing Starry Lee who contested the District Council (Second) functional constituency stood for the largest pro-Beijing party Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong. Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood's Tam Kwok-kiu replacing Frederick Fung who contested the new super seats as well, however lost to his ally Civic Party's Claudia Mo who was not elected in 2008. The ADPL once again lost all the seats in this stronghold since the 1998 election.

The 1988 Hong Kong District Board elections were the third district board elections held on 10 March 1988. Election was held to all 19 districts of Hong Kong, for 264 members from directly elected constituencies while there were 141 appointed seats and respectively 30 and 27 ex officio members representing the Urban Council and rural committees in New Territories.

1998 Hong Kong legislative election in Kowloon West

These are the Kowloon West results of the 1998 Hong Kong legislative election. The election was held on 24 May 1998 and all 3 seats in Kowloon West where consisted of Yau Tsim Mong District, Sham Shui Po District and Kowloon City District were contested. The Democratic Party's Lau Chin-shek and James To won two seats and was followed by Jasper Tsang of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong. Frederick Fung of the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood was defeated and ousted from the legislature.

Daniel Wong Kwok-tung is a Hong Kong lawyer and politician. He is a current member of the Kowloon City District Council for Prince constituency. Prior to that, he had been elected member of the Yau Tsim District Board, Urban Council and Wong Tai Sin District Council. He is a current member of the Democratic Party, before that he was a member of the Hong Kong Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood (ADPL), The Frontier and the League of Social Democrats (LSD).
