The Grenada Athletic Association (GAA) is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Grenada. [1]

Grenada Country in the Caribbean

Grenada is a sovereign state in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea at the southern end of the Grenadines island chain. Grenada consists of the island of Grenada itself plus six smaller islands which lie to the north of the main island. It is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Its size is 348.5 square kilometres (134.6 sq mi), and it had an estimated population of 112,200 in July 2018. Its capital is St. George's. Grenada is also known as the "Island of Spice" due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops, of which it is one of the world's largest exporters. The national bird of Grenada is the critically endangered Grenada dove.

GAA was founded as Grenada Amateur Athletic Association in 1924, [2] and was affiliated to the IAAF in 1970. [3]

Current president is Charles George. He was re-elected in 2014 for another four-year term. [4]

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics. It was founded on 17 July 1912 as the International Amateur Athletic Federation by representatives from 17 national athletics federations at the organization's first congress in Stockholm, Sweden. Since October 1993, it has been headquartered in Monaco.

North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association continental confederation governing body of athletics

The North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) is the continental confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within North America, Central America and the Caribbean. NACAC is one of six area associations of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). NACAC was founded on December 10, 1988, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Association of Panamerican Athletics organization

The Association of Panamerican Athletics is a new regional confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, replacing the Pan American Athletics Commission.

Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation organization

The Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (CACAC) is a confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Central America and the Caribbean. Membership of the Confederation is open to all National Governing Bodies for Athletics in any country or territory in the region which is affiliated to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Other countries may be granted observer status and may, with permission of the Congress, be allowed to compete in open championships. They will, however, not be entitled to vote at the Congress.

The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Guyana. Current president is Aubrey Hutson. He was elected in 2013.

Costa Rican Athletics Federation

The Costa Rican Athletics Federation is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Costa Rica. Current president is Roberto Verdesia. He took office in 2006 and was re-elected in 2011.

Nicaraguan Athletics Federation

The Nicaraguan Athletics Federation is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Nicaragua. Current president is Xiomara Larios. She was re-elected in December 2012.

Honduran National Athletics Federation

The Honduran National Athletics Federation is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Honduras. Current president is Calixto Sierra. He was re-elected for the period 2012-2014 in May 2012.

The Puerto Rican Athletics Federation is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Puerto Rico. Current president is José Enrique Arrarás. He was re-elected in October 2012.

The Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Bermuda. Current president is Donna Raynor. She was elected for the first time in 2009.
