Ikeduru Local Government Area (LGA) is located in the western part of Imo State, in southern Nigeria, West Africa. It was previously carved out of Mbaitolu / Ikeduru LGA. It has its headquarters at Iho (Ihuo).

The current chairman of the Ikeduru LGA is Chief Sam Aka [1] who hails from Iho-Dimeze. The Ikeduru LGA has the following neighbors, Mbaitolu, Mbano, and Mbaise, and they share a common culture and markets. [2]

With an annual temperature of 29.36°C, 0.1% lower than the national average for Nigeria, the district of Ikeduru has a tropical wet and dry climate. [3] [4]

Amakohia-Ubi is an autonomous community in the Owerri West Local Government area of Imo State (1), Nigeria. The community is divided into four villages: Umunjam, Obiọkwu, Umuike, and Umuọka. Each of these villages, which later became towns, has between four and eight kindreds. Amakọhia-Ubi, originally, Amakọhia-Ubi was a village in the Umunwọha Ọfọ Ise community comprising Ohii, Amakohia-Ubi, Ndegwu, Orogwe, and Irete in order of seniority, until each of them was recognized as autonomous by the Peoples Democratic Party-led government. Each of these officially known as an autonomous community was granted the right to choose a traditional ruler according to government procedures establishing the autonomous community status.

Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu known as Sam Daddy is a Nigerian business executive and politician currently serving as the national secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) since November 2021. He served as a senator in the 8th Nigeria National Assembly representing Imo East Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019 and sponsored the bill for the establishment of South East Development Commission passed by the 8th Senate but was vetoed by President Buhari. Anyanwu ran unsuccessfully for the PDP governorship nomination for the 2019 Imo State gubernatorial election. Anayanwu is the founder of several businesses and non-profit organizations including New View Engineering Nig. Ltd, Sonada Oil Ltd and president of So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E) Foundation – a charity organization focused on helping less privileged.
