Locarno is a southern Swiss town and municipality in the district Locarno, located on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore at its northeastern tip in the canton of Ticino at the southern foot of the Swiss Alps. It has a population of about 16,000 (proper), and about 56,000 for the agglomeration of the same name including Ascona besides other municipalities.
Amanda Michelle Seyfried is an American actress. Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she began modeling at age 11 and ventured into acting at 15, with recurring roles as Lucy Montgomery in the CBS soap opera As the World Turns (1999–2001) and Joni Stafford in the ABC soap opera All My Children (2003). Black Friday is a 2004 Indian Hindi-language crime film written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. Based on Black Friday: The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts, a book by Hussain Zaidi about the 1993 Bombay bombings, it chronicles the events that led to the blasts and the subsequent police investigation. Produced by Arindam Mitra of Mid-Day, the film stars Pawan Malhotra, Kay Kay Menon, Aditya Srivastava, Kishor Kadam and Zakir Hussain.
Marion Cotillard is a French actress. The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival, held every August in Locarno, Switzerland. Founded in 1946, the festival screens films in various competitive and non-competitive sections, including feature-length narrative, documentary, short, avant-garde, and retrospective programs. The Piazza Grande section is held in an open-air venue that seats 8,000 spectators.

The Prize of the Ecumenical Jury is an independent film award for feature-length films shown at major international film festivals since 1973. The award was created by Christian film makers, film critics and other film professionals. The objective of the award is to "honour works of artistic quality which witnesses to the power of film to reveal the mysterious depths of human beings through what concerns them, their hurts and failings as well as their hopes." The ecumenical jury can be composed out of 8, 6, 5, 4 or 3 members, who are nominated by SIGNIS for the Catholics and Interfilm for the Protestants. SIGNIS and Interfilm appoint ecumenical juries at various international film festivals, including Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Le Monde deem his film Le Grand Paysage d'Alexis Droeven (1981), to be the first great Film of a Walloon cinemaThis film addresses two problems; the first is that of Belgium's region, site of a bitter conflict between Flemish and Walloon inhabitants, and the second that of a dramatic changes that have affected the agricultural world. The film was entered into the 31st Berlin International Film Festival where it won an Honourable Mention.

Let the Corpses Tan is a 2017 neo-Western crime film directed and written by Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani. The film is based on the novel Laissez bronzer les cadavres by Jean-Patrick Manchette and Jean-Pierre Bastid. The film involves a gang of thieves who obtain 250 kg of stolen gold who arrive at the home of an artist who is caught in a love triangle. The scenario quickly escalates into a day long gun fight between police and robbers.
The 9th Magritte Awards ceremony, presented by the Académie André Delvaux, honored the best films of 2018 in Belgium and took place on 2 February 2019 at the Square in the historic site of Mont des Arts, Brussels, beginning at 8:00 p.m. CET. During the ceremony, the Académie André Delvaux presented Magritte Awards in 22 categories. The ceremony was televised in Belgium by La Deux. Directors Vincent Patar and Stéphane Aubier presided the ceremony, while comedian Alex Vizorek hosted the show for the first time.

The Girl with a Bracelet is a 2019 mystery drama film written and directed by Stéphane Demoustier. It is a co-production between France and Belgium. It is a remake of the 2018 Argentine film The Accused. The film stars Roschdy Zem, Anaïs Demoustier, Mélissa Guers and Chiara Mastroianni. The film had its world premiere at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival on 8 August 2019, and was released in France by Le Pacte on 12 February 2020.
