The speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is the presiding officer of the Legislative Assembly of the state of Rajasthan, the main law-making body for the Indian state of Rajasthan. He is elected by the members of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. The speaker is always a member of the Legislative Assembly. [1] [2] [3] [4]

In 2003, she became the first woman to serve as the Chief Minister for the state of Rajasthan. She is currently one of the national vice presidents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A member of the Scindia family, she is also the matriarch of the Bamraulia family of Dholpur.

Parasram Maderna was an Indian politician who was a nine-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Rajasthan between 1957 and 2003. He was the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2004 and a three-time Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. A senior Jat leader, he served as a Cabinet Minister in the Rajasthan government for several portfolios. He also served as the President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee from 1989 to 1994. He was an MLA from the Bhopalgarh constituency six times, which included four consecutive terms from 1967 to 1985. He also served as MLA twice from the Osian constituency and once from the Gudamalani constituency.

As Member of the Congress party, he has represented the Tonk assembly seat in Rajasthan since 2018. Pilot became the youngest citizen of India to become Member of Parliament, at the age of 26.

C. P. Joshi is an Indian politician and a five-time MLA from Nathdwara, Rajasthan. He was born in a Brahmin family in Nathdwara, Rajasthan and he is a member of the Indian National Congress. He is the current Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Previously, he was the Member of Parliament of India from Bhilwara in the 15th Lok Sabha. He was one of the first 19 members of India's new cabinet sworn in on 22 May 2009, despite being a first-time member of the Lok Sabha. As a union minister, Joshi held key portfolios like Road Transport and Highways, and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in the Second Manmohan Singh ministry. Moreover, he was also a Cabinet Minister of the Government of Rajasthan from 1998 to 2003.

Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) is a state university located at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. In similar name, but slightly different abbreviation of HJUJ, a university was established in 2012 by the Congress govt through an Act of the Government of Rajasthan which was closed in 2015 by the next BJP govt. The Congress govt returned to power in December 2018 and a new university for journalism and mass communication — HJU — was constituted through the State Legislature's Act No. 11 of 2019, at the premises of historical Khasa Kothi.

Elections to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly were held in May 1985, to elect members of the 200 constituencies in Rajasthan, India. The Indian National Congress won a majority of seats as well as the popular vote, and its leader, Hari Dev Joshi was appointed as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

Narottam Lal Joshi was an Indian politician who served as the first Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 31 March 1952 to 25 April 1957 and the Congress MLA of Jhunjhunu.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Rajasthan political crisis</span> Cabinet crisis in Indian state of Rajasthan

On 25 September 2022 at around 9 PM (IST), 82 MLAs of the Indian National Congress supporting Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan suddenly went to Speaker of the House, C. P. Joshi's residence in Jaipur and gave their resignation to oppose the decision of making Sachin Pilot as Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
