QT Canberra is a hotel in Canberra, Australia.

Construction began on the 215 room Lakeside Hotel at 1 London Circuit in 1970. Designed by Peddle, Thorp & Walker, it was built by Mainline Corporation. [1] It opened on 22 November 1972. [2] [3]

The Lakeside Hotel was rebranded as Rydges Lakeside in 1995 having become part of the Rydges Hotels & Resorts chain in 1980. [4] [5] It was branded as QT Canberra in 2014 after becoming part of QT Hotels & Resorts. [6]

Disney's River Country was the first water park at Walt Disney World. River Country was located along the shores of Bay Lake and near Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the park was themed as a rustic, old-fashioned swimming hole. It opened on June 20, 1976, and closed indefinitely on November 2, 2001, with The Walt Disney Company later announcing on January 20, 2005, that the park would remain closed permanently. This made the water park the second of only two Disney parks in the company's history to close permanently, with nearby Discovery Island on the lake closing in 1999. A new hotel, Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, was set to be built at the former site of Disney's River Country starting in 2019 and was planned to open in 2022, but construction was halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge is an upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort that currently is under construction at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It is being built between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. It is being constructed on the former site of Disney's River Country Water Park. The new hotel will also feature several Disney characters for each of the rooms including Bambi, Brother Bear, The Fox and the Hound, and Pocahontas among others. A lakeside restaurant featuring the characters from The Princess and the Frog is also slated to open along with the new resort in 2022.
