Middleburg is a town in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, with a population of 673 as of the 2010 census. It is the southernmost town along Loudoun County's shared border with Fauquier County.
Jackson's Mill is a former grist mill in Lewis County, West Virginia, near the city of Weston. The mill, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, is now the centerpiece of a state-owned museum property. It is significant as a well-preserved early grist mill, and as the boyhood home of Stonewall Jackson, a renowned Confederate general in the American Civil War.
The Kennedy-Wade Mill, or Wade's Mill, is a grist mill and national historic district located in Raphine, Virginia and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally built c. 1750 by Captain Joseph Kennedy. In 1846 the mill was sold by the Kennedy family to Henry B. Jones, who expanded and improved the mill. After passing to other owners in 1867, the mill was damaged by fire in 1873. It was rebuilt and leased to James F. Wade, and put back into use in November 1882. The Wade family continued to operate it for four generations. It was bought in 1991 by Jim Young, and is still functioning today. The mill grinds flour using millstones and a 21-foot overshot water wheel. The flour is shipped to restaurants and livestock farmers.
The W.H. Bickel Estate is a 2½ story stone mansion built between 1928 and 1930 on the outskirts of Parkersburg, West Virginia. The 1,800-square-foot (170 m2) building has a rectangular main section and a wing to the East. It is known for its architecture and a ghost that reportedly haunts the area. The main house is rich with woodwork, including intricately inlaid walnut and maple floors with geometric patterns, wood mantels, partial wainscoting on all three floors, 15 light French doors on the first floor, solid maple arched doors on the second floor, built-in china cabinets, crown molding in all main rooms, and original finish wood casement windows with roll down screens and brass hardware. There are five gas fireplaces with marble or stone hearths in the main house and two staircases, including a circular walnut and maple main staircase. The ceilings are coved on the second and third floors, and the third floor contains a ballroom or “dance hall” stretching twenty eight feet.
The Captain David Pugh House is a historic 19th-century Federal-style residence on the Cacapon River in the unincorporated community of Hooks Mills in Hampshire County, West Virginia, United States. It is also known by its current farm name, Riversdell. It is a 2+1⁄2-story frame dwelling built in 1835. It sits on a stone foundation and has a 2+1⁄2-story addition built in 1910. The front facade features a centered porch with shed roof supported by two Tuscan order columns. The rear has a two-story, full-width porch recessed under the gable roof. Also on the property are a contributing spring house, shed, outhouse, and stone wall.

Laurel Mills is located along the Thornton River in Rappahannock County on Route 618, between Viewtown and Rock Mills.
Staats Mill Covered Bridge, also known as Tug Fork Covered Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge near Ripley in Jackson County, West Virginia, United States. Built in 1887, the Staats Mill Covered Bridge originally crossed the Tug Fork of Big Mill Creek and was named for Enoch Staats' water-powered mill.
Advance Mills, also known as Fray's Mill, is an unincorporated community in Albemarle County, Virginia.
George Washington's Gristmill was part of the original Mount Vernon plantation, constructed during the lifetime of the United States' first president. The original structure was destroyed about 1850. The Commonwealth of Virginia and the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association have reconstructed the gristmill and the adjacent distillery. The reconstructed buildings are located at their original site three miles (5 km) west of Mount Vernon proper near Woodlawn Plantation in Alexandria, Virginia. Because the reconstructed buildings embody the distinctive characteristics of late eighteenth century methods of production and are of importance to the history of Virginia, the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places despite the fact that the buildings are not original.
The Abell-Kilbourne House in Martinsburg, West Virginia is associated with John N. Abell, a prominent Martinsburg businessman and Charles W. Kilbourn, a Martinsburg mill owner. The former president of the Old National Bank, Abell developed the area known as "Abell's Addition" after his retirement in 1886. At that time Abell lived at 506 West Burke Street.
The Stouts Mill Bridge is a historic camelback through truss bridge that brings Duskcamp Rd. over Little Kanawha River in Stouts Mill, Gilmer County, West Virginia. The bridge was built in 1897. It was designed and/or built by the Canton Bridge Company.
Jones Mill Run Historic District is a national historic district located near Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It encompasses one contributing building, one contributing site, and two contributing structures. They are the Thomas Swearingen House ; site of the mill, including the stone foundation and head and tail races; and the double stone bridge.
Herns Mill Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge near Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. It was built in 1884, and is a Queen post truss bridge measuring 10 feet, 6 inches wide and 53 feet, 8 inches long. It has red board-and-batten siding and a galvanized sheet metal roof. It was built to provide access to the S.S. Hern Mill, when it was in operation. It is one of two remaining covered bridges in Greenbrier County, the other being Hokes Mill Covered Bridge.
Nickell Homestead and Mill, also known as Mont Glenn Farm, is a historic home, grist mill, and national historic district located at Secondcreek, near Ronceverte, Monroe County, West Virginia. The district includes seven contributing buildings. The original section of the main house was built about 1820, with additions made in 1858, and about 1900. It is a 2 1/2 story, six bay brick and frame Federal style dwelling. The 1900 addition has some Colonial Revival style details. Also on the property is a two-story mill built in 1814, a barn, machine shed, hog shed, garage, and house by the mill. The Nickell mill closed in 1949. The property upon which the mill stood was sold in 2014 or 2015. The new owner tore down the mill. The only thing remaining is the stone foundation. The new owner is not maintaining the property and the house is also falling into disrepair. One wonders why this person bought an historic property only to destroy it.
Cook's Mill, also known as The Old Mill and The Greenville Mill, is a historic grist mill and sawmill and national historic district located near Greenville, Monroe County, West Virginia, United States. The district includes one contributing buildings and two contributing structures. The main mill building was built in 1857 on the original stone foundation and site of an earlier mill built in approximately 1796. It is a 2 1/2 story, plus basement, hand-hewn post-and-beam building, with massive timbers pegged at their mortise and tenon joints. The district also includes the dam, mill pond, tail race and stream.
The Taylorstown Historic District comprises the historic core of Taylorstown, Virginia. The community and the historic district are centered on the Taylorstown Mill, a two-story stone structure on the banks of Catoctin Creek. Up the hill from the mill is Hunting Hill, a house built in 1737 for the mill's owner. The district also includes a store built in 1800, adjoined by the 1904 Mann's Store, with the 1900 Mann house across the street.

Pemberton is an unincorporated community in Goochland County, Virginia, United States. Virginia State Route 45 passes by Pemberton, located about 11 miles (18 km) west of Goochland, the county seat. It was named for the family that owned Clover Forest Plantation. Nearby is Howard's Neck Plantation, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Raubold House is a historic house on Chesham Road in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Completed in 1901, it is a good example of a vernacular house built for immigrant mill workers. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
French's Mill is a historic grist mill at the junction of Augusta-Ford Hill and Fairground Roads in Augusta, West Virginia. Its main building is a three-story wood-frame building with a metal roof, asphalt siding, and a concrete foundation. It was built in 1911 on the site of a c. 1890s grist mill that was destroyed by fire. The mill, which was originally water-powered, was converted to operate by electric power in 1949, and ceased operations in 2000. It was also updated in the mid-20th century to accommodated different types of grain, illustrating the evolutionary change of these industrial facilities.
