Slovenian National Badminton Championships

The Slovenian National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in Slovenia. The tournament started in 1958 and is held every year.

Koen Ridder is a former Dutch professional badminton player. The left handler Ridder, was a part of the Duinwijck badminton club. He won the men's doubles title at the National championships in 2009, 2011, and 2013 partnered with Ruud Bosch. Together with Bosch, they won some international tournaments in Portugal, Belgium, Canada, Slovenia, Norway, Peru and Tahiti. He also played for the Düren 57 club in Germany. His parents, Rob and Marjan Ridder were also professional badminton players and current top veterans. Koen Ridder was elected vice-chair of the athlete commission of the BWF for a 4-year term in May 2015. In 2017 Ridder was chosen as Chair by his fellow commission members. He achieved his personal best world ranking of 22 in 2013. Koen retired as a professional player in 2014 after representing The Netherlands for more than 10 years at international badminton level.

The Yugoslavian National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in Yugoslavia. They were held between 1994 and 2002, and were succeeded by the Serbian and Montenegrin National Badminton Championships and Serbian National Badminton Championships. In other parts of the former SFR Yugoslavia, national badminton championships are held, too.

Neslihan Arın is a Turkish badminton player. The 178 cm (5.84 ft) tall athlete plays right-handed and is coached by Çağatay Taşdemir at Egospor club of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. She won the women's singles title at the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games, 2013, 2018 Mediterranean Games and the women's doubles title at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. Arın also won the bronze medals at the 2015 European Games and at the 2021 and 2022 European Championships.

Maja Tvrdy is a Slovenian badminton player. She competed for Slovenia at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Alen Roj is a Slovenian badminton player. In 2015, he became the runner-up of Egypt International tournament in the men's singles event. In 2020, he was appointed as a coach in Luxembourg national team. He is married German badminton player, Olga Konon in 2018.

In 2015, she won the Slovenia International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Bastian Kersaudy. In 2016, she won French National Badminton Championships in women's doubles event. Lorraine Baumann is a French badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged 8 with her father and brother Marin Baumann, then in 2011, she joined France national badminton team. In 2015, he became the runner-up of Slovenia International tournament in mixed doubles event with Marin Baumann.

Mikkel Mikkelsen is a Danish badminton player. In 2016, he won the mixed doubles titles at the Portugal International tournament partnered with Mai Surrow. In May 2016, he and Surrow lifted their second title as a pair in only their fourth tournament together at the Slovenia International tournament.

Petra Polanc is a Slovenian badminton player. She participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Andraž Krapež is a Slovenian badminton player. He trained at the BIT badminton club, and in 2014 he competed at the Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. In 2017, he won his first international title at the Romanian International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Samatcha Tovannakasem of Thailand. Krapež was a bronze medalists at the 2022 Mediterranean Games.
