Christian Themba Msimang is a South African politician who has served as a Member of the National Assembly since May 2019. He previously served in parliament from May 2009 until May 2014, and again from August 2014 to November 2017. Msimang is a member of the Inkatha Freedom Party.

Career

Msimang served as the deputy secretary-general of the Inkatha Freedom Party during the early-2000s. [1]

Parliamentary career

Msimang was nominated to the National Assembly in the aftermath of the 2009 general election and was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on 6 May 2009. [2]

He was placed low on the party's candidate list for the 2014 general election. As a consequence, he did not return to Parliament after the election. MP Mario Oriani-Ambrosini died on 16 August 2014 and the party appointed Msimang as his successor. He was sworn in on 23 August and later retired as an MP on 1 November 2017. [3]

He returned to Parliament following the 2019 general election. [4]

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is a political party in South Africa. The party has been led by Velenkosini Hlabisa since the party's 2019 National General Conference. Mangosuthu Buthelezi founded the party in 1975 and led it until 2019. Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi

Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi is a former South African parliamentarian who was the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of South Africa in the cabinet of Jacob Zuma. She is also President of the National Freedom Party (NFP). Prior to being elected to Parliament, she served for nineteen years as a councillor, fifteen of those years as Mayor of the Zululand District Municipality. 2019 South African general election

The 2019 South African general election was held on 8 May 2019 to elect a new President, National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each province. These were the sixth elections held since the end of apartheid in 1994 and determined who would become the next President of South Africa.

Mkhuleko Hlengwa South African politician

Mkhuleko Hlengwa is a South African politician who serves as a Member of the National Assembly for the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP). He is the Chairperson of parliament's Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA). He became a Member of the National Assembly in February 2012 and has served on the SCOPA committee since 2014. Hlengwa was previously the National Chairperson of the IFP Youth Brigade.

Liezl Linda van der Merwe is a South African politician who serves as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa, representing the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP). She became an MP in May 2012.

Mervyn Alexander Dirks is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. Simo Ezra Mfayela was a South African politician from KwaZulu-Natal who served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from May 2019 until his death. He was the sole permanent representative of the Inkatha Freedom Party and the deputy provincial chairperson of the party. Mfayela was the son of the former senator Senzo Mfayela.

Bertha Peace Mabe is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since February 2017. She previously served in the National Assembly from May 2014 until August 2016. She served as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from Gauteng between May 2009 and April 2014. Mabe is a member of the African National Congress and the party's unsuccessful 2016 Mogale City mayoral candidate.

Magdalena Duduzile Hlengwa is a South African politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2019. Hlengwa is a member of the Inkatha Freedom Party.

Mthokozisi Nkululeko Nxumalo is a South African politician who has been serving as the National Chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade since July 2019. Narend Singh South African politician

Narend Singh is a South African politician who is the chief whip of the Inkatha Freedom Party in the National Assembly and the treasurer-general of the party. Prior to joining the National Assembly in 2007, he was a Member of the Executive Council in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government from 1997 until 2006 and a member of the Senate from 1994 to 1996.

Xolani Ngwezi is a South African politician of the Inkatha Freedom Party who was a Member of the National Assembly from June 2017 until January 2021. Ngwezi has since been serving as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces.

Maliyakhe Lymon Shelembe is a South African politician. Shelembe was an Inkatha Freedom Party member until 2011. He was elected to the National Assembly in 2014 as a member of the National Freedom Party. Shelembe became a Democratic Alliance MP after the 2019 elections.

Nomvuzo Francisca Shabalala was a South African politician. She was a member of the African National Congress and the South African Communist Party. From 2011 to 2016 she was the deputy mayor of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. In 2018, Shabalala was sworn in as a member of the National Assembly.

Russel Nsikayezwe Cebekhulu is a South African politician who has been an Inkatha Freedom Party Member of Parliament (MP) since 2015 and previously from 2009 to 2014.
