Monegaw Township is an inactive township in St. Clair County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1]
Monegaw Township was erected in 1841, taking its name from a spring of the same name within its borders. [2] The spring has the name of Monegaw, an Osage tribal leader. [3]
St. Clair County is a county located in the western portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,805. Its county seat is Osceola. The largest city is Appleton City. The county was organized in 1841 and named after General Arthur St. Clair, Governor of the Northwest Territory. St. Clair was also the 9th president of the United States in Congress Assembled. Under his presidency, the Northwest Ordinance and United States Constitution were passed.
Taberville is an unincorporated community in southwestern St. Clair County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately sixteen miles west of Osceola, situated on the north side of the Osage River. Taberville formerly had a post office, but it has closed and mail is now delivered from nearby Rockville.
