Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival

The 16th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival was held on 27 November to 4 December 2021 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. [1] The festival returned to be held offline at the Empire XXI, after a year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. [2] The festival partnered with streaming service KlikFilm for online screenings. [3]

Contents

A total of 128 films from 33 countries were screened during the festival. [4] Asghar Farhadi's drama film A Hero opened the festival, and it closed with Gina S. Noer's First, Second & Third Love. [5] [6]

The most prestigious award of the festival, Golden Hanoman Award, was presented to Vietnamese drama film Taste by Lê Bảo. [7]

The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) is a worldwide organization of 29 member countries. It was created as the result of a conference on Asian cinema organized by Cinemaya, the Asian Film Quarterly, in New Delhi in 1990 at the instance and with the support of UNESCO, Paris.

Jalanan is a 2013 feature-length Indonesian documentary film directed and produced by Daniel Ziv and featuring Jakarta street musicians Bambang "Ho" Mulyono, Titi Juwariyah and Boni Putera. The Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) is an annual film festival held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The festival has partnered with the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) since its inaugural edition in 2006. It aims to introduce Asian cinema to a wider audience and provides a space for arts, culture, and tourism.

The 17th annual Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival was held from 26 November to 3 December 2022. Indonesian anthology film Piknik Pesona was selected to open the festival. Japanese drama film Plan 75 was the closing film of the festival.

Like & Share is a 2022 drama film written and directed by Gina S. Noer. The film stars Aurora Ribero and Arawinda Kirana.

Deadly Love Poetry is a 2022 thriller film written and directed by Garin Nugroho. It stars Mawar de Jongh, Baskara Mahendra, and Morgan Oey.

The 2022 Jakarta Film Week, the second edition of the film festival Jakarta Film Week, was held on 13 to 16 October 2022. The festival opened with Fajar Nugros' The Ballads of Roy, and closed with Sorayos Prapapan's film Arnold Is a Model Student.

IDN Pictures is a film studio located in Indonesia which was launched on May 25, 2020, by IDN Media, an Indonesian media platform company.

The 18th annual Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival will be held on 25 November to 2 December 2023 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The films are set to screen at the Empire XXI theatres and online through streaming service KlikFilm, meanwhile other fringe events will be held at the LPP Yogyakarta.
