The 17th annual Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival was held from 26 November to 3 December 2022. Indonesian anthology film Piknik Pesona was selected to open the festival. [1] Japanese drama film Plan 75 was the closing film of the festival. [2]
The most prestigious award of the festival, Golden Hanoman Award, was presented to Indonesian thriller film Autobiography , directed by Makbul Mubarak. [3]

Hail, Driver!, or known as Prebet Sapu (Malay) is a 2020 Malaysian Malay-language drama film directed by Muzzamer Rahman. The film tells the story of an illegal e-hailing driver named Aman who is colour blind, his experiences of driving passengers in the nights of Kuala Lumpur, and a friendship with his customer, Bella, a mysterious escort.
Leonor Will Never Die is a 2022 Filipino psychological comedy-drama film written and directed by Martika Ramirez Escobar, in her directorial debut. The film stars Sheila Francisco as a retired screenwriter who, after falling into a coma, finds herself the action hero of her unfinished screenplay. The supporting cast includes Bong Cabrera, Rocky Salumbides, and Anthony Falcon. The film is an homage to Filipino action films of the 1970s and '80s.
Autobiography is a 2022 thriller drama film written and directed by Makbul Mubarak in his directorial debut. It stars Kevin Ardilova and Arswendy Bening Swara. The film had its world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival during the Horizons program on September 2, 2022, where it won the FIPRESCI Award for Best Film in sections other than the main competition. Autobiography won the sole award in Best Original Screenplay category among other seven nominations at the 2022 Indonesian Film Festival. The film was selected as the Indonesian entry for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
