José Félix Evaristo de Uriburu y Álvarez de Arenales was President of Argentina from 23 January 1895 to 12 October 1898.
Manuel Justo Pardo y Lavalle was a Peruvian politician who served as the 20th President of Peru. He was the first civilian President in Peru's history.
The Constitution of Peru is the supreme law of Peru. The current constitution, enacted on 31 December 1993, is Peru's fifth in the 20th century and replaced the 1979 Constitution. The Constitution was drafted by the Democratic Constituent Congress that was convened by President Alberto Fujimori during the Peruvian Constitutional Crisis of 1992 that followed his 1992 dissolution of Congress, was promulgated on 29 December 1993. A Democratic Constitutional Congress (CCD) was elected in 1992, and the final text was approved in a 1993 referendum. The Constitution was primarily created by Fujimori and supporters without the participation of any opposing entities.
Peru State College (Peru) is a public college in Peru, Nebraska. Founded by members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1865, making it the first and oldest institution of higher education in Nebraska, it underwent several name changes before receiving its current name.
Established in 1867, the Nebraska State College System is the governing body for Nebraska's three public colleges that are not part of the University of Nebraska System.

The spotted houndshark, Triakis maculata, is a houndshark of the family Triakidae found in tropical waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean off the coast of South America. It usually grows to a length around 180 centimetres (71 in). The reproduction of this houndshark is ovoviviparous, with a litter of 14 pups being found in one female with a birth size of 30 to 40 centimetres. Their diet is believed to consist mainly of crustaceans.

The montane guinea pig is the likely main ancestor of Cavia porcellus, the domestic cavy or domestic guinea pig, which appears to be a hybrid that includes lesser genetic contributions from other Cavia species.

Francisco García Calderón Landa was a lawyer and Provisional President of the Republic of Peru for a short seven-month period in 1881, during the War of the Pacific. García Calderón was a key figure in the final peace accords between Peru and Chile. Later in post-presidential career, in 1892, he was commissioned to arbitrate land disputes between Peru and Ecuador, which centered on the contested provinces of Mainas, Jaén and Tumbes. He was an academic as well, having authored a comprehensive history of the previously-mentioned contested provinces, as well as a monograph on Peruvian legislation titled, Diccionario de la Legislación Peruana.
Euclastes is an extinct genus of sea turtles that survived the Cretaceous–Paleogene mass extinction. The genus was first named by Edward Drinker Cope in 1867, and contains three species. E. hutchisoni, was named in 2003 but has since been reassigned to the genus Pacifichelys, while E. coahuilaensis named in 2009 was reassigned as Mexichelys coahuilaensis in 2010.

The Peruvian Civil War of 1867 was the fifth internal conflict in 19th century Peru. It was caused by the adoption of a new constitution to replace the previous one adopted in 1860. Mariano Ignacio Prado, put in power as a result of the Peruvian civil war of 1865, faced by a revolt by his former allies Pedro Diez Canseco and José Balta. On May 30, 1867, former president Ramon Castilla died while attempting to take advantage of the situation.
The Battle of Arroio Hondo, also known as Combat of Penimbu or Puru-Hué (Peru-Huê), took place on 3 August 1867, during the Paraguayan War.
