This edition saw the introduction of seedings in the draw which were meant to prevent the best players from meeting each other in the early rounds of the tournament.

The defending champion, Mary Browne, did not participate in this edition and therefore no challenge round was played. The event was played on outdoor grass courts and held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Wissahickon Heights, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia in the United States, from June 8 through June 13, 1915.
