Faughs entered the championship as the defending champions and in search of a record-equalling fifth consecutive title, however, they were beaten by Young Irelands in the first round. [2] [3]

The final was played on 20 April 1924 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Kickhams and Young Irelands, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. [4] Kickhams won the match by 6–07 to 5–02 to claim their fourth championship title overall and a first title in 16 years. [5]
