The 1926 JBUs Pokalturnering (Unofficial English translation: 1926 JBU Cup, 1926 Jutland Cup) was the 3rd edition of the regional tournament, JBUs Pokalturnering, the highest senior cup competition organised by the Jutland FA (JBU). [1] The tournament was held in the third and fourth quarter of 1926 with Aalborg BK as the defending cup champions. [2] The season was launched on 22 August 1926 with the first round, embraced five cup rounds and concluded on 21 November 1926 with the cup final. [3] [4] A total of 29 clubs participated in the cup tournament, which was the same number of teams as the previous season.

Aalborg BK won the cup tournament for the third consecutive time, by winning the final on 21 November 1926 in Ringkjøbing against regional top-flight league rivals Esbjerg fB. [5] [6] [7] The cup final was a repeat of the last season's cup final in Vejle. [8] [9] Aalborg BK outscored their opponents 33–6 on aggregate in the five games played in this year's competition, while Esbjerg fB reached the final in four games due to a bye in the second round.

The following 29 senior teams from the Jutland FA's then three tier league system, 1925–26 JBUs Mesterskabsrække (3 clubs), the 1925–26 JBUs A-række (23 clubs) and the 1925–26 JBUs B-række (3 clubs), signed up for the cup tournament. From the JBUs Mesterskabsrække, Aarhus GF and Vejle BK did not take part in this season – Aarhus GF redrew their original registration due to the new format of the regional top-flight league, while Vejle BK was of the opinion that the costs were too large in relation to the significance and interest of the cup matches. [10] Horsens FS participated with their reserve team, that had been promoted to the 1926–27 JBUs Mesterskabsrække, and not the first senior team. [11]

First round proper

The first round proper of the cup tournament was played on Sunday, 22 August 1926 in 13 different cities. [3] No Aarhus-based club progressed to the next round. Cup Final

Match summary

The cup final was a repeat of the last season's cup final featuring the same teams and was played on Ringkjøbing IFs Bane in Ringkjøbing on 21 November 1926. [9] [28] [29] The entire match was plagued by rain, which affected the game on the field and the attendance figures. [29] The line-up of Aalborg BK consisted of one reserve player as replacement for the regular half back, Egon Thon. [29] Esbjerg fB featured the same line-up, that had played in the club's semi-final match, with the exception that Niels Pedersen was included as right innerwing in the squad instead of Magnus Hansen, that was injured. [30]

15 minutes into the first half, Aalborg BK's Alex Willadsen was injured to his knee, but was able to resume playing. [29] Aalborg BK netted four goals (one being scored via penalty kick) and dominated the first half, while Esbjerg fB was the constant attacking part, scored the most goals in the second half. [29] For the third consecutive year, Aalborg BK secured the cup championship in the JBUs Pokalturnering by winning the match 5–3 against league rivals Esbjerg fB – the trophy had to be won a total of five times for a club to obtain it permanently. The 1927–28 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen i Fodbold was the 1st edition of the new year-long league structure for the Danish national football championship play-offs, a Danish FA-organised club football tournament between the highest ranking clubs from each of the six regional football associations. The 1928 Provinsmesterskabsturneringen i Fodbold was the 15th edition of the Danish provincial championship play-off, Provinsmesterskabsturneringen, the second highest senior cup competition, crowning the best provincial championship club of the five regional football associations outside the dominating Copenhagen football clubs, organised and financially supported by the national football organization Danish FA (DBU). This was the first edition of the tournament under its new status as a separate championship cup tournament, no longer being an essential part of the road to winning the Danish Football Championship, which it had been under the previous structure of Landsfodboldturneringen. The 1964 Danish 3rd Division was the twenty-third season of the Danish third-tier association football division since its establishment in 1936 as part of the Danmarksturneringen's nation-wide league structure. Governed by the Danish FA, the season was launched on 26 March 1964 with two fixtures and concluded with the last four matches on 15 November 1964. Skovshoved IF and Hellerup IK entered as relegated teams from last season's second division, while Svendborg fB and Nakskov BK entered as promoted teams from the 1963 Kvalifikationsturneringen. The twelve teams in the division entered the 1964–65 Danish Cup in the cup tournament's first round proper.

The 1964 Jutland Series was the 66th edition of the Danish fifth-tier association football division since its establishment in 1902. Governed by the Jutland Football Association (JBU), the season was launched on 30 March 1964, and the last round of regular league matches concluded on 8 November 1964, with the league championship final being played on 15 November 1964. Silkeborg IF, Vorup Frederiksberg BK, Brande IF and Holstebro BK entered as relegated teams from last season's fourth-tier, while Hobro IK, Vejen SF, Viborg FF (reserves) and Aabyhøj IF Thrott entered as promoted teams from the 1963 JBUs Serie 1. Fixtures for the 1964 season were announced on 13 March 1964, 2½ weeks prior the season's start. The league featured reserve teams for higher ranking league clubs, whose players could indiscriminately be used on both the league and reserve teams, after a quarantine period of one match day.

The 2021–22 Danish Cup, also known as Sydbank Pokalen, is the 68th season of the Danish Cup competition. The winner is qualified for the Europa League play-off round.

The 2022–23 Danish Cup, also known as Pokalen, was the 69th season of the Danish Cup competition. F.C. Copenhagen took the tournament, securing its 9th Cup with a 1–0 win over AaB and qualifying for the Europa Conference League second qualifying round.

The 2023–24 Danish Cup, also known as Oddset Pokalen, is the 70th season of the Danish Cup competition. The Winner will qualify for the Europa League first qualifying round.
