The 1935 Kangaroo Tour of New Zealand was the second full tour of New Zealand by the Australia national rugby league team. [1] The Australians played six matches on tour, including a three test series against the New Zealand national rugby league team. The tour began on 21 September and finished on 9 October.
The tour captain of the 20 man squad to New Zealand was Eastern Subrbs point scoring centre Dave Brown.

In late 2007, the Australian Rugby League and National Rugby League commissioned 130 experts to select the 100 best rugby league players in the game's 100-year history in Australia. The list was released in February 2008. From this list, a limited panel of experts picked a "Team of the Century" – a team of 17 players considered to be the best Australian players of all time. The 1936 Eastern Suburbs DRLFC season was the 29th in the club's history. Coached by Arthur Halloway and captained by Dave Brown, they competed in the 1936 NSWRFL Premiership, becoming only the second team to go through a season undefeated and winning their 7th minor premiership. They then went on to reach the Premiership Final, defeating Balmain and claiming their 6th title.

The Australians played six matches on tour, including the final two games of a three-game test series against the Graham Lowe coached, Mark Graham captained New Zealand Kiwis, with the first test taking place at Lang Park in Brisbane on 18 June. George Edward Francis Tittleton was a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand. His brother, Wally, also played rugby league for New Zealand.
Jim Laird was a rugby league player who represented New Zealand in 4 test matches in the second row and at hooker. He became the 226th player to represent New Zealand. He also played club rugby league for Ngaruawahia (1930–32), and Marist Old Boys (1932-35). He also played for Waikato representative teams (1930–32), and Auckland (1933-35).
Wally Tittleton was a rugby league player who began his career playing in the Waikato of New Zealand. He represented South Auckland (Waikato) and made the New Zealand team before moving to Auckland in 1936 and joining the Richmond Rovers club. Prior to that he had played for the Ngāruawāhia and Taupiri clubs in the Waikato. While in Auckland he made the Auckland team and played for them 7 times. He also played for Auckland Pākehā, and the North Island on several occasions. In total Tittleton played for New Zealand 15 times and when he debuted in 1935 he became Kiwi No. 241. In 1942 he joined the Motor Transport Pool rugby union team which won the Gallaher Shield before rejoining the rugby league code in 1943.
Noel Bickerton was a rugby league player who represented New Zealand in 1937 in two test matches against the touring Australian side scoring a try in each match. He thus became the 249th player to represent New Zealand. Bickerton also played for Auckland Māori (1935–38) in its formative years, and New Zealand Māori in 1937. He was a Richmond Rovers junior player and graduated to their senior side in 1935 where he played 82 matches for them over the following 5 years predominantly in the first five eighth (standoff) position in some of the glory years of the side.
Jack Satherley was a rugby league player. He represented the New Zealand rugby league team in five matches in 1937 and 1938, predominantly at hooker. In the process he became the 255th player to represent New Zealand. He previously played rugby union for Manukau Rovers in Auckland in the early 1930s before switching to the rugby league code in late 1933 when he joined the Richmond Rovers rugby league club. He also represented Auckland, Auckland Pākehā, and the North Island. His older brother was Cliff Satherley who also played rugby league for New Zealand.
