The 9th Kanonloppet was a motor race, run to Formula One rules, held on 11 August 1963 at the Karlskoga Circuit, Sweden. The race was run over two heats of 20 laps of the little circuit, and was won by British driver Jim Clark in a Lotus 25.

Kanonloppet was an annual motor race, run at the Karlskoga Motorstadion in Gelleråsen in the outskirts of Karlskoga, Sweden. The first races were run in 1950 and 1952, and then from 1954 onwards it was an annual event until the last one was held in 1984. That last year, the organizing club, Karlskoga Motorklubb, was made bankrupt.

Auto racing is a motorsport involving the racing of automobiles for competition.

Formula One is the highest class of single-seater auto racing sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and owned by the Formula One Group. The FIA Formula One World Championship has been one of the premier forms of racing around the world since its inaugural season in 1950. The word "formula" in the name refers to the set of rules to which all participants' cars must conform. A Formula One season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, which take place worldwide on purpose-built circuits and on public roads.

The first heat was won easily by Clark, with team-mate Trevor Taylor in a comfortable second place, from Jack Brabham in third. All the other runners were lapped at least once. Brabham had led for most of the race but suffered fuel shortage problems and his engine cut out. The second heat saw a reverse of the first, with Brabham winning from Taylor and Clark, with just a few tenths of a second separating the two Lotus drivers.

Trevor Taylor was a British motor racing driver from England.

Jack Brabham Australian racing driver

Sir John Arthur Brabham, was an Australian racing driver who was Formula One World Champion in 1959, 1960, and 1966. He was a founder of the Brabham racing team and race car constructor that bore his name.

The only two retirements were the two BKL Lotus cars in the second heat. This race marked the Formula One debuts of the 1967 World Champion Denny Hulme, and British driver David Prophet. [1]

Kurt Kuhnke was a racing driver from Germany, although he was more successful in motorcycle racing.

Denny Hulme New Zealander racing driver

Denis Clive "Denny" Hulme, was a New Zealand racing driver who won the 1967 Formula One World Drivers' Championship for the Brabham team. Between his debut at Monaco in 1965 and his final race in the 1974 US Grand Prix, he started 112 Grand Prix, resulting eight victories and 33 trips to the podium. He also finished third in the overall standing in 1968 and 1972.

David Prophet was a British racing driver from England. He participated in two Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, debuting on 28 December 1963. He scored no championship points. He finished sixth in the non-Championship 1963 Rand Grand Prix.

The I Gran Premio de Mexico was held on 4 November 1962 at the Magdalena Mixhuca circuit, Mexico City. The race was a non-championship event run to Formula One rules and attracted a large entry, including many top teams and drivers. The race was run over 60 laps of the main circuit, and was eventually won by Jim Clark and Trevor Taylor, sharing a drive in a Lotus 25. The race meeting was marred by the death during practice of local driving prodigy Ricardo Rodríguez. The circuit would later be renamed the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez to honour him and his brother Pedro.

The 2nd Natal Grand Prix was a motor race, run to South African Formula One-style rules, held on 22 December 1962 at Westmead Circuit, South Africa. The field was split into two heats, with a subsequent final. The heats consisted of 22 laps, and the final was run over 33 laps, and was won by British driver Trevor Taylor in his Lotus 25.

The 1968 Deutschland Trophäe, also known as the Martini Gold Cup, was a motor race, run to Formula Two rules, held on 7 April 1968 at the Hockenheimring, Germany. The race was run over two heats of 20 laps of the circuit, and was the first round of the 1968 European Formula Two season. During the first heat, British driver and double Formula One World Champion Jim Clark suffered a fatal accident.

1967 Spring Cup

The 1st Daily Express Spring Cup was a non-Championship motor race, run to Formula One rules, held on 15 April 1967 at Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire, UK. The race was run over two heats of 10 laps of the circuit, then a final of 30 laps, and was won overall by Jack Brabham in a Brabham-Repco BT20.
