The Eurovision Song Contest 1964 was the 9th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the 1963 contest with the song "Dansevise" by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), the contest was held at Tivolis Koncertsal on 21 March 1964, and was hosted by Danish TV presenter Lotte Wæver.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 was the inaugural edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest for young singers aged eight to fifteen. It was held on 15 November 2003, in Copenhagen, Denmark. With Camilla Ottesen and Remee as the presenters, the contest was won by the then eleven-year-old Dino Jelusić, who represented Croatia with his song "Ti si moja prva ljubav" while second and third place went to Spain and the United Kingdom respectively. The next time that a country would win on its first attempt was Italy in 2014.

"Non ho l'età ", usually given as just "Non ho l'età" is a song recorded by Italian singer Gigliola Cinquetti, with music composed by Mario Panzeri and lyrics by Nicola Salerno. It represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964, held in Copenhagen, winning the contest, having previously won that year's Sanremo Music Festival.

Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "Tell Me Who You Are", written by Michael Ronson, and performed by Malene Mortensen. The Danish participating broadcaster, Danmarks Radio (DR), organised the national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2002 in order to select its entry for the contest. Ten songs competed in a televised show where "Vis mig hvem du er" performed by Malene Mortensen was the winner as decided upon through two rounds of jury voting and public voting. The song was later translated from Danish to English for Eurovision and was titled "Tell Me Who You Are".

Bjørn Tidmand is a Danish singer, best known for his participation in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest.

Spain was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "Caracola", written by Fina de Calderón, and performed by the band Los TNT. The Spanish participating broadcaster, Televisión Española (TVE), selected its entry through a national final and, subsequently, the performers internally.

The Netherlands was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "Jij bent mijn leven", composed by Ted Powder, with lyrics by René de Vos, and performed by Anneke Grönloh. The Dutch participating Broadcaster, Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS), selected its entry through a national final, after having previously selected the performer internally.

Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 with the song "Boom Boom", written and performed by the group Mabel. The Danish participating broadcaster, Danmarks Radio (DR), organised the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1978 in order to select its entry for the contest. This marked Denmark's return to Eurovision after an 11-year absence.

Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 with the song "Dansevise", composed by Otto Francker, with lyrics by Sejr Volmer-Sørensen, and performed by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann. The Danish participating broadcaster, Danmarks Radio (DR), organised the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1963 in order to select its entry for the contest. The entry went on to win Eurovision in the most controversial of circumstances, when it was alleged that the Norwegian jury had altered their votes in order to hand victory to Denmark at the expense of Switzerland.

In addition to participating in the contest, the Danish broadcaster DR also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the competition in 2013 with the song "Only Teardrops" performed by Emmelie de Forest. DR organised the national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 in order to select the Danish entry for the 2014 contest in Copenhagen. Ten songs competed in a televised show where "Cliche Love Song" performed by Basim was the winner as decided upon through the combination of jury voting and public voting over two rounds.

Denmark originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "Yes" written by Emil Lei, Jimmy Jansson and Linnea Deb. The song was performed by the duo Ben and Tan. The Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2020 in order to select the Danish entry for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The national selection consisted of a radio semi-final and a televised final. In the final, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. The results of the first round were decided upon through the combination of jury voting and public voting while in the second round, the winner was selected solely by public televoting. "Yes" performed by Ben and Tan was the winner after gaining 61% of the public vote.
