The 1972–73 European Cup Winners' Cup football club tournament was won by Milan after a 1–0 victory against Leeds United at the Kaftanzoglio Stadium, Thessaloniki, Greece.
Following are the results of the 2008–09 Eskişehirspor season. Eskişehirspor is a football club in Eskişehir, Turkey. Also known as Kırmızı Şimşekler or The Star of Anatolia. The club was founded in 1965 and started a football revolution in Anatolia. Eskişehirspor started a long term stay in the first league in Turkey when they were founded.

In their first season they have become one of the most scorer teams. In Turkish Cup they were eliminated at second round. Before the season MİT had sent an offer to former coach of Turkish national football team Sandro Puppo. However, later Cihat Arman has signed as coach. Bayram Birinci was trainer.

Gün Sazak was a Turkish nationalist politician and former government minister of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). He was assassinated by the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front after his police guard was removed. After his killing, MHP supporters carried out the Çorum massacre in reprisal.

The 1941 Turkish Football Championship was the eighth edition of the competition. It was held in July. Gençlerbirliği won their first national championship title by defeating Beşiktaş in the final. For Gençlerbirliği it was the club's first title with one more to follow in 1946.
The 1950–53 Mediterranean Cup or 1950-53 Eastern Mediterranean Cup was the second tournament of the Mediterranean Cup, which is a football competition contested by men's national teams and national B teams of the states bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The tournament was played on the road and spanned three years, and it was played in a round-robin system in which the four teams involved played two matches against each other. Egypt, Turkey and Greece participated with their A teams, while Italy disputed this tournament with their B team, and they won with 8 points while Greece finished in second with 7 points.
