The 1973 Tour de Corse (formerly the 17th Tour de Corse) was the 13th round of the inaugural World Rally Championship season. It started in December in the County of Corsica in France, and the rally was run primarily on the road. Jean-Pierre Nicolas won the round with co-driver Michel Vial. [1]

Jean Todt is a French motor racing executive and former rally co-driver. He was previously director of Peugeot Talbot Sport and then Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team principal, before being appointed chief executive officer of Ferrari from 2004 to 2008. From 2009 to 2021 he served as the ninth president of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
Michèle Hélène Raymonde Mouton is a French former rally driver. Competing in the World Rally Championship for the Audi factory team, she took four victories and finished runner-up in the drivers' world championship in 1982.
Markku Allan Alén is a Finnish former rally and race car driver. He drove for Fiat, Lancia, Subaru and Toyota in the World Rally Championship, and held the record for most stage wins (801) in the series, until Sébastien Loeb overtook it at the 2011 Rally Catalunya. Alén's phrase "now maximum attack" became well-known.

Jean-Luc Thérier was a French rally driver. He was the highest scoring driver in the inaugural World Rally Championship in 1973 and the only one to win three events. However, until 1977 the championship was only formally contested by manufacturers, not individuals, so only Thérier's Alpine-Renault team were formally awarded the title.
The 1986 World Rally Championship was the 14th season of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship (WRC). The season consisted of 13 rallies, including all twelve venues of the previous season as well as the addition of the Olympus Rally. Pierre-Louis Loubet is a French rally driver. He is the 2019 World Rally Championship 2 Champion. He is the son of the 1989 European Rally Champion Yves Loubet.

Citroën's Sébastien Loeb won the race, his 19th win in the World Rally Championship. Loeb made history by winning all twelve stages in the rally, which marked the first time a driver had won every stage of a WRC rally.

Bernard Darniche repeated his 1977 win with co-driver Alain Mahé, again driving a Fiat 131 Abarth - as did second-place finisher Jean-Claude Andruet and third-placed Sandro Munari.
