The Sligo County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) or Sligo GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Sligo. The county board is also responsible for the Sligo county teams.
The Sligo Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Sligo clubs. The winners of the Sligo Senior Championship qualify to represent the county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Tubbercurry remain the most successful club, having won the Championship on 20 occasions, the last in 2014. Tourlestrane won the 2022 competition, defeating St Mary's GAA in the final to win their eighteenth title, their seventh title in a row.
The Sligo Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised by Sligo GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Sligo. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Connacht Junior Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship. Previously, the winners used to compete in the Connacht Senior Club Hurling Championship but were very unsuccessful at that level.
This is a round-up of the 2006 Sligo Senior Football Championship. The reigning champions, Coolera/Strandhill, who were surprisingly eliminated at the group stage, after losing a playoff tie to neighbours St. John's. Geevagh won the 2006 Sligo Intermediate Football Championship with a victory over St Patrick's and therefore will take part in the 2007 Championship. Curry won the 2006 title, claiming their 6th title in all, by beating Bunninadden in the final.
This is a round-up of the 2004 Sligo Senior Football Championship. Tourlestrane won the title for the seventh time, defeating St. Mary's after a replay. Castleconnor were relegated, but early in 2005 the club requested that they remain in the Senior grade, which was agreed.
This is a round-up of the 2005 Sligo Senior Football Championship. The year saw Coolera, who had suffered two final defeats earlier in the decade, end their long wait for Championship glory, stretching back to 1907. They defeated Curry in the final, who had disposed of the holders Tourlestrane after a semi-final replay. No team was relegated in 2005, in order to bring the number of competing teams up to 16 in 2006.

This is a round-up of the 2007 Sligo Senior Football Championship. Tourlestrane claimed their eighth title in this year, and fifth since 1994, defeating Eastern Harps in the final by two points, despite the absence of captain and star player Eamon O'Hara. The holders Curry fell to a surprisingly heavy defeat to outsiders St. John's in a quarter-final second replay.
This is a round-up of the 1983 Sligo Senior Football Championship. St. Mary's were champions again, regaining the title they had lost to Tourlestrane the previous year. Any hopes of the Sligo town club being kept off the top spot were dashed after they gained an emphatic revenge on holders Tourlestrane in the opening round, and enjoyed a comfortable win over Tubbercurry in the final. This was the first of five successive final meetings between the two clubs.

Hunt Cup following a comfortable win over Tubbercurry in the latter's last final appearance to date. Other notable points from the Championship included the surprise exit of holders Tourlestrane, after a heavy defeat to unfancied Drumcliffe/Rosses Point, and the relegation of St. Patrick's, Dromard, after a long and successful spell at Senior level lasting some three decades, and seven titles.

This was the last year that amalgamations competed in the Championship, St. Nathy's and Geevagh/St. Michael's exiting early, though Bunninadden's promotion to Senior level meant the end of the former alliance in any event. Ballymote returned to the Championship after a 27-year gap, but didn't enjoy much success.
This is a round-up of the 1993 Sligo Senior Football Championship. Eastern Harps won their first Championship since 1975, after defeating Tubbercurry by a point in the final. This was the beginning of a new era of domination by two clubs, as Harps and Tourlestrane would claim the majority of honours for the rest of the decade, just as Tubbercurry and St. Mary's had done in the 1980s.
This is a round-up of the 1978 Sligo Senior Football Championship. Tourlestrane won their first title in 22 years, after defeating surprise finalists Grange, who had caused a major upset by knocking out the holders and reigning Connacht champions, St. Mary's, in the semi-final after a replay. This final remains not only Grange's only appearance in a Senior final, but the only occasion that a team from North Sligo has reached the final. The Championship structure was changed in this year, from the two-section round-robin method, to a knockout system, where the sides defeated in the opening round played on in their own section, with two sides qualifying for the semi-finals, while two sides from the "winner's section" joined them in the last four. This was the only year that such a backdoor system operated in the Championship.
This is a round-up of the 1999 Sligo Senior Football Championship. Tourlestrane regained the Owen B. Hunt Cup in this year after defeating Easkey, making their first final appearance since 1968. The group stages were re-introduced for this year, but with only three groups used, this resulted in a complicated series of playoffs to determine the final semi-final spot. Tubbercurry, having been disqualified after failing to field against Shamrock Gaels in a playoff, but then re-instated, won that last spot, but Tourlestrane then ended their ambitions in the semi-final.
This is a round-up of the 2000 Sligo Senior Football Championship. This Championship, after a number of years of being dominated by Eastern Harps and Tourlestrane, provided a novel final pairing, as Bunninadden and Coolera/Strandhiill contested the final, Coolera having dispatched both of the previous champions en route. The destination of the title went down to the last minute, as a dramatic injury-time goal gave Bunninadden their first title for 109 years, leaving Coolera devastated, after leading for much of the game.
This is a round-up of the 2008 Sligo Senior Football Championship. Eastern Harps were crowned champions for the sixth time in their history, after a convincing defeat of Tubbercurry in the decider. The reigning champions, Tourlestrane, surrendered the title after failing to emerge from their group, and the once-dominant town outfit, St. Mary's, were forced to survive a playoff to retain their senior status. The 2000 champions Bunninadden were not so fortunate however, and were relegated to Intermediate level, just two years after last contesting the final.
Naomh Molaise Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club covering much of the northern area of County Sligo, comprising Cliffoney (Ahamlish) and part of the Drumcliffe/Maugherow parishes. The club is a combination of a number of older clubs, including Grange, Cliffoney and Maugherow, and had fielded as Grange–Cliffoney before adopting the present name in 2003. Currently the champions of the Dr Taheny Cup for the minor A championship, a first-time achievement for the club.
Tourlestrane is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based along the Sligo-Mayo border in south County Sligo, comprising the parish of the same name.
The 2019 Sligo Senior Football Championship is the 114th edition of the Sligo GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Sligo, Ireland. The tournament consists of 10 teams, with the winner going on to represent Sligo in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage.
The 2021–22 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship was the 51st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club football tournament. It was the first club championship to be organised in two years as the 2020-21 championship was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The championship began on 21 November 2021 and ended on 12 February 2022.
