Sligo Creek Trail is a paved hiker-biker trail running along Sligo Creek in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. Most of the trail passes through tree-filled parkland. Tubbercurry is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Tubbercurry, County Sligo; the club was formed in 1888. At underage they have won 10 Sligo Minor Football Championships and 7 Sligo Under 20 Football Championships. One of the greatest hurlers in Sligo history, Paul Seevers played with the club for a number of years winning many medals with both the Gaelic football and Hurling teams. The club combines with Cloonacool at underage level.

Curry-Moylough is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based along the Sligo-Mayo border comprising the parish of Curry and Moylough in County Sligo, Republic of Ireland.

Tourlestrane is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based along the Sligo-Mayo border in south County Sligo, comprising the parish of the same name.

St Mary's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the western ward of Sligo, County Sligo, Republic of Ireland.

St Farnan's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in west County Sligo, Republic of Ireland. It was formed from the amalgamation of two local clubs, Dromore West and Templeboy in 1964.

Eastern Harps is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in east County Sligo, including Keash, Gurteen, Culfadda, Monasteraden and Ballinafad.

The Sligo county football team represents Sligo in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Sligo GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
