National Wrestling Federation

The original National Wrestling Federation (NWF) was a professional wrestling promotion based in Buffalo, New York and owned by promoter Pedro Martínez. It ran from 1970 to 1974. The promotion was then revived in 1986 by Robert Raskin. The revived promotion closed in 1994.

James Edward Barnett was an American professional wrestling promoter, and one of the owners of the Indianapolis National Wrestling Alliance promotion, Australia's World Championship Wrestling and Georgia Championship Wrestling. He also served as a federal officeholder during the Presidency of Jimmy Carter.

Yoshiaki Yatsu is a Japanese professional wrestler, amateur wrestler and mixed martial artist. He is known for being one-half of the first-ever World Tag Team Champions with Jumbo Tsuruta, having won the NWA International Tag Team Championship and the PWF Tag Team Championship, and unifying the two titles.

2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which is also counted as the 5th Asian Indoor Games, was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2017. It became the third city in the former Soviet countries to win the right of hosting an Olympic Council of Asia-sanctioned event, following Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan, which jointly-hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games. The host city was chosen in Kuwait on 19 December 2010. On 6 July 2013 the flag of the Olympic Council of Asia was officially handed over to the mayor of the city of Ashgabat.

Komeil Ghasemi Iranian wrestler

Komeil Ghasemi is a retired Iranian wrestler who won a gold medal in the men's freestyle 120 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Ghasemi was awarded his Olympic gold medal after the two wrestlers ahead of him failed drug tests. Ghasemi is the most successful Iranian heavyweight wrestler at the Olympic Games.

Sakshi Malik Indian freestyle wrestler

Sakshi Malik is an Indian freestyle wrestler. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg category, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. She is a part of the JSW Sports Excellence Program, along with fellow female wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat.

Hassan Yazdani Iranian wrestler

Hassan Yazdani Charati is an Iranian wrestler. Yazdani is an Olympic and World Champion in freestyle wrestling in two weight categories. He became Olympic champion in the 74kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics after defeating Russian wrestler Aniuar Geduev in the final. The following year he became World Champion at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships in the Men's freestyle 86 kg category. He won his second world title at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan and the third one at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Norway.

Meerim Zhumanazarova is a Kyrgyzstani freestyle wrestler. She holds the title of Master of Sport of International Class in Kyrgyzstan. She won a bronze medal in the women's 68 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She also won the gold medal in the same event at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway.

Uzur Dzhuzupbekov is a Kyrgyzstani Greco-Roman wrestler. He won the gold medal in the men's 97 kg event at the 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Xi'an, China. He represented Kyrgyzstan at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Mohammad Hadi Saravi Darkolaei is an Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler. He won the gold medal in the 97 kg event at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships held in Oslo, Norway. He also won one of the bronze medals in the 97 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. In 2020, he won the gold medal in his event at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in New Delhi, India.
