"The Greatest Show on Turf" was a nickname for the high-flying offense of the St. Louis Rams during the 1999, 2000, and 2001 National Football League (NFL) seasons. The offense was designed by attack-oriented offensive coordinator and head coach Mike Martz who mixed an aerial attack and a run offense in an Air Coryell-style offense. The Rams' offense during these three seasons produced record scoring and yardage, three NFL MVP honors, and two Super Bowl appearances and one championship. In 2000, the team set an NFL record with 7,335 total offensive yards. Of those, 5,492 were passing yards, also an NFL team record.

Andrew Jon McCollum is an American former professional football player who was a center for 15 seasons in the National Football League for three teams. He played college football at Toledo Rockets. He was signed by the Milwaukee Mustangs as a street free agent in 1994.

Albert Timothy Bentley is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) and the United States Football League (USFL). Bentley began his professional career in the USFL with the Michigan Panthers and Oakland Invaders from 1984 to 1985. After the USFL folded, he played for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers from 1985 to 1992. Bentley played college football for the Miami Hurricanes.

The 2007 Northern Iowa Panthers football team represented the University of Northern Iowa in the 2007 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The team was coached by Mark Farley and played their home games in the UNI-Dome. The Panthers clinched a share of the Gateway Football Conference and a playoff berth with a win against Missouri State on November 3.

The 1984 Pittsburgh Panthers football team represented the University of Pittsburgh in the 1984 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Panthers offense scored 178 points while the defense allowed 247 points. At season's end, the Panthers were not ranked in the national polls. The Panthers had their first losing season since 1972.

The 1989 Maryland Terrapins football team represented University of Maryland, College Park in the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Terrapins offense scored 215 points while the defense allowed 238 points. Led by head coach Joe Krivak, the team finished the season unranked.

The 1993 Northern Iowa Panthers football team represented the University of Northern Iowa as a member of the Gateway Football Conference during the 1993 NCAA Division I-AA football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Terry Allen, the Panthers compiled an overall record of 8–4 with a mark of 5–1 in conference play, winning the Gateway title for the fourth consecutive season. Northern Iowa advanced to the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship playoffs, where they lost in the first round to Boston University. Panthers offense scored 350 points while the defense allowed 238 points. Quarterback Kurt Warner was in his senior season with the Panthers.

He played college football for the Northern Iowa Panthers and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. Johnson spent five seasons with the Cardinals, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections in 2016. He also played for the Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints.
