Foreign relations of Kazakhstan are primarily based on economic and political security. The Nazarbayev administration has tried to balance relations with Russia and the United States by sending petroleum and natural gas to its northern neighbor at artificially low prices while assisting the U.S. in the War on Terror. Kazakhstan is a member of the United Nations, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, North Atlantic Cooperation Council, Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and NATO's Partnership for Peace program. Kazakhstan established a customs union with Russia and Belarus, transformed into the Eurasian Economical Community then in 2015 into the Eurasian Economic Union. President Nazarbayev has prioritized economic diplomacy into Kazakhstan's foreign policy.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev President of Kazakhstan

Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev, born 17 May 1953 is a Kazakh politician and diplomat. He took office as the president of Kazakhstan on 20 March 2019, succeeding Nursultan Nazarbayev, who resigned on 19 March 2019 after 29 years in office.

Football Club Kairat is a professional football club based in Almaty, which plays in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football. Founded in 1954 as Lokomotiv Alma-Ata, they became Urozhay in 1955 and Kairat in 1956. The club's home ground is the Central Stadium which has a capacity of 23,804. The club's home kit colours are yellow and black striped shirts, black shorts and black socks.

FC Ordabasy is a professional football club from Kazakhstan based at the K. Munaitpasov Stadium in Shymkent. Ordabasy was formed in 1949, following the merger of two existing Kazakhstan Premier League sides, FC Zhiger and FC Tomiris.

FC Tobol is a Kazakh professional football club based at the Central Stadium in Kostanay. They have been members of the Kazakhstan Premier League since its foundation in 1992. They won the Kazakhstan Premier League in 2010, and finished no lower than fourth place between the 2002 and 2010 seasons.

FC Astana-1964 Football club

FC Astana-1964 is a Kazakhstani football club based at the K.Munaitpasov Stadium in Nur-Sultan. Founding members of the Kazakhstan Premier League, they were relegated to First Division for the first time in 2009 after being declared bankrupt. The club has won the national championship on three occasions.

They are founding members of the Kazakhstan Premier League and have missed only three seasons following relegations. The most successful was the season of 1998, where they won the Kazakhstan Cup and came fourth in the league.

Football Club Shakhter, commonly referred to as FC Shakhter Karagandy, is a professional football club based in Karagandy, Kazakhstan. They have been members of the Kazakhstan Premier League since its foundation in 1992.

Vostok Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Oskemen, Kazakhstan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Vostok.

The Koblandy Batyr Stadium is the main football arena of the city and for FC Aktobe. It was constructed in 1975. On the opening day on August 28, 1975, Aktyubinets played against CSKA Moscow. Match ended with score 1:0 in favor of visiting team. Kopeykin scored the goal.

FC Caspiy Kazakh football club

Football Club Caspiy is a Kazakhstani football club based at the Zhastar Stadium in Aktau. The club name derived from Caspian Sea. Their best year was 1996, when they finished 4th in the Premier League and reached the semi-finals of the Kazakhstan Cup. Since 2001, they were stuck in the First Division, until gaining direct promotion to the top division in the 2019 season.

Timur Askaruly Kulibayev is a Kazakhstani business oligarch and son-in-law of former Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kulibayev has held several positions in important state-owned enterprises that manage Kazakhstan's natural resources, and has immense influence over the country's hydrocarbon industry.

Astana Football Club is a professional football club based in Nur-Sultan. They play in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football. The club's home ground is the 30,254-seat Astana Arena stadium. The club colours, reflected in their badge and kit, are sky blue and yellow. Founded as Lokomotiv Astana in 2009, the club changed its name to Astana in 2011. They are members of the Astana Presidential Club, an association of the main sports teams in Astana supported by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna.

Foreign Intelligence Service (Kazakhstan)

The Kazakh Foreign Intelligence Service is Kazakhstan's primary external intelligence agency. The Syrbar is the successor of the Barlau Department in the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan since February 2009.

FC Bayterek Kazakhstani football club

FC Bayterek are a Kazakh football club based at the Astana Arena in Nur-Sultan. The club is a state sports project, dedicated to play Kazakh graduates of Brazilian football academy Olé Brasil Futebol Clube. In its first season in 2012 Bayterek had mix of graduates born 1994 and experienced professionals. However, in future it is planned to have purely graduates of the academy.
