The 2000–01 Barys Astana season was the 2nd season of the franchise.

The 2000–01 Kazakhstan Hockey Championship was the ninth season of the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship, the top level of ice hockey in Kazakhstan. Seven teams participated in the league, and Kazzinc-Torpedo won the championship.

Barys Hockey Club, commonly referred to as Barys Astana or simply Barys, is a professional ice hockey team based in Astana, Kazakhstan. It is one of the founding members of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). They play in the league's Chernyshev Division of the Eastern Conference. Their home arena is the Barys Arena, where they have played since the 2015–16 KHL season. Prior to 2015, the team played home games at the Kazakhstan Sports Palace for 14 seasons, beginning in 2001. The head coach is Andrei Skabelka and the president is Boris Ivanishchev

The 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 6, 2000 and concluded with the 2001 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on April 7, 2001 at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York. This was the 54th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 106th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team.

Magnitka Temirtau was an ice hockey team in Temirtau, Kazakhstan. They participated in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship during the 1999–2000 season. Magnitka finished in seventh place in the first round.

Yesil Petropavl was an ice hockey team in Petropavl, Kazakhstan. They founded in 2000 and participated in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship, the top level of ice hockey in Kazakhstan. After three seasons of play, they were operated in 2003.

HC Bat Yam

HC Bat Yam is an Israeli ice hockey team based in Bat Yam and compete in the Israeli League. HC Bat Yam was founded in 1992 and won their first league title in 1995. In 2010 the club qualified for their first IIHF Continental Cup however were knocked out in the first round without winning a game. HC Bat Yam won their second title in 2016 and as a result qualified for the 2016–17 IIHF Continental Cup.
