John Part is a Canadian former professional darts player and current commentator, as well as competing in World Seniors events. Nicknamed "Darth Maple", he is a three-time World Champion, having won the 1994 BDO World Darts Championship on his world championship debut, and the PDC World Championship in 2003 and 2008. Part is statistically North America's greatest darts player to date. He has the distinction of being the first non-UK player to win the World Championship, and the only non-European to date to win the PDC World Darts Championship.

The Las Vegas Desert Classic was a darts tournament, organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and was held each year in July from 2002 until 2009. Its original venue was the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada from 2002 to 2005, but the tournament moved down the strip to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino from 2006 to 2009.

The 2002 Las Vegas Desert Classic was the inaugural staging of a darts tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation. It featured the top players from the PDC along with an opportunity for players from North America to qualify. Over 200 players entered the event, but the last 16 featured mostly British-based players – the only exceptions being Roland Scholten and former World Champion John Part who participate regularly in UK tournaments.

The 2005 Las Vegas Desert Classic was the 2005 edition of the Las Vegas Desert Classic darts tournament on 27 June until 3 July 2005. It was held at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, and was won by Phil Taylor.

In 2006 the Las Vegas Desert Classic, an American darts tournament, was won by the Canadian player John Part.

The game was developed by Rebellion Developments in collaboration with British developer Redoubt, Ltd. and published by O-Games on 26 November 2010 in Europe for the PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 game consoles.

The World Series of Darts Festival was a series of five professional darts competitions organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in the Tropicana Ballroom of the Tropicana Hotel, in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 26 to 30 June 2010.
