The doubles Tournament at the 2006 Qatar Telecom German Open took place between 5 May and 13 May 2006 on the outdoor clay courts of the Rot-Weiss Tennis Club in Berlin, Germany. Yan Zi and Zheng Jie won the title, defeating Elena Dementieva and Flavia Pennetta in the final.

Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suárez were the two-time defending champions, but they were defeated in the second round by Anna Chakvetadze and Elena Vesnina.
Cara Black and Liezel Huber were the defending champions, but did not play together. Black partnered with Rennae Stubbs and Huber partnered with Martina Navratilova but both pairs lost to Yan Zi and Zheng Jie, in the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.
Yan Zi and Zheng Jie were the defending champions but lost in the semifinals to Chan Yung-jan and Chuang Chia-jung.

Daniela Hantuchová defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 6–3, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2007 Indian Wells Masters. It was her second Indian Wells Masters title.

Defending champions Serena and Venus Williams defeated Cara Black and Liezel Huber in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2010 Australian Open. It was the Williams sisters' fourth Australian Open doubles title together, and eleventh major title together overall. It was also the third component of an eventual non-calendar-year Grand Slam.

It was the 17th edition of the Ordina Open tennis tournament, played on outdoor grass courts in Rosmalen, 's-Hertogenbosch Netherlands. The tournament was held from 18 to 24 June 2006.

Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur won the title, defeating Virginia Ruano Pascual and Meghann Shaughnessy in the final.
Nadia Petrova defeated the defending champion Justine Henin-Hardenne in the final, 4–6, 6–4, 7–5 to win the singles tennis title at the 2006 WTA German Open. This was the third consecutive title for Petrova over a span of a month, extending her winning streak to a career-high 15 matches.
Anastasia Myskina and Ai Sugiyama were the defending champions, but none competed this year, with Myskina competing at the Fed Cup final during the same week.
